I agree with this.

Glasse, if you had the option not to reveal yourself, then you should've gone with it.
Why? Because your opinion in an admin post, carefully concealed, would have given it extra weight. It's your choice to disclose, and I'm fine with it, but you would have been in a much stronger position if you had hidden it.
Of course, it would depend on how good a player you are. If your ideas were wrong, you would've hurt the town a lot, but if they were on mark, then it would've been that more awesome.
Either way, the only reason why I'm not 100% convinced I should vote for Aeres is that he MIGHT be some sort of village idiot. Lying, confessing, voting for himself, being accused of having voted for himself -> Village Idiot? cause him of reversing his vote right away... I don't know, it just reeks like Village Idiot bad play to me. But the thing is, Mafia won't go for him, since he's causing too much havoc anyway, so if we don't lynch him I guess we'll never know.

I had to choose between being a normal townie or being a doctor but the mafia being informed of my role. The role's name is Neo. You're holding someone back, because as far as it stands right now, its never the right choice to pick townie.

He didn't, he chose Doctor.

Obviously. The only up in being townie is nobody knowing your role, and being able to claim whatever the heck you want, I guess. But believe it or not, those were my only two options. In fact, it was clearly specified "Take the blue pill, and you become a normal townie." Nothing more, nothing less.

Oh, I understand, you think I picked townie? No.
I picked doctor, that's why I roleclaimed straight away. No use in just the mafia knowing what I am.

Extra weight or not, if i'm wrong, as you said, it could have caused damage. Without clues I feel like its so hard to find if anyone is red or not so i'm pretty sure i wouldn't be on target all the time, which could have killed important roles.
|
I agree, it would take a large amount of balls to try and lead the town like that, but if you're not at least half-sure, you can just not leave obvious clues and keep it gibberish.
I guess the thing with role-claiming is that it's quite an unique, cool role, and now that we know what it is, it lost all its charm.

I'm saying that the role you say you have does not make sense. At all. So there's probably more to it that you haven't revealed.
|
Oh wow I'm bad at typing.
Why would I think that you picked townie? There's no downside to telling mafia that you're doctor if the alternative is that we don't have a doctor, especially if you can self prot. So your doctor ability probably comes with some form of negative, or there's some way that your ability can be used against you.
|
I feel like his second pill wasnt townie and he picked it. We are all supposed to have a special role no? picking townie would give him no special role. Yes, he's Neo, but still. I doubt it for some reasons.
Can we have a mafia confirm that hes a doctor?
;P
|
So you don't think that the mafia knowing that I'm a doctor is a negative? Basically, I'm a "goto" target each night, and if I want to live, I need to self-protect myself a lot. Thus making my role almost useless. I don't see why you think anyone else (other than the mayor/bodyguards, maybe) would make a better target than a 100% confirmed by mods doctor.
IMO, by role-claiming, I just leveled the playing field a bit.

Reading the last few pages after class and I have an epic facepalm. Glasse... you got an awesome role but you just changed yourself to a vanilla townie unless your role got another ability. I won't go too much on it since everyone else probably said enough.
This an examples I would have post on the radio. -It seems that a mafia member is feeling bad for the sin he committed.

Lynch all Liars is a metagame policy that extends beyond just this round of mafia.
I still have trouble coming to terms with it because last game I was in LAL got a couple townies lynched. Because they lied and fucked up the town, and mafia pushed LAL on them.
Even so, as a long term policy LAL can and will discourage these lying plays on both sides, town and mafia and so it should be used.
As for Aeres, I'm guessing if lynched he's going to flip town. There's less of a motive for claiming BG as a mafia, since the purpose of claiming BG is to draw a hit and the mafia won't hit itself.
The other thing is mafia completely ignored 666's bodyguard softclaim, for whatever reason.

I think L's point is that no one would have any reason to pick normal townie, so why were you given the choice if it isn't really a choice.

Yea and that shows what? Nothing. It's nothing concrete or 100% sure. You can make town analyse fake clues that you think could point to someone. Unless i had allies in a pm group i can't really do anything more than i can do by being more direct in a post. I'm not trying to confuse town or anything, giving my opinion in a post will do the same thing if i put a good reason behind it.
Fake clues = could cause damage
If i was red though, i would have used that to my advantage easily.
There's also something i didn't say. Part of that message wasnt from me.
