Apparently being allowed to skip military service is a big perk for Korean Olympic medalists...

the thing is though, park chu young doesn't really need it since as monaco fc delayed his service by like ten years, which will allow him to have a full football career in europe. and even if he medals, he will still probably go do military service because there was controversy in korea because people thought he shouldn't get his military service delayed. idk, but koreans are sensitive about this stuff.
so basically, he will still probably go to the military

I just realized the tournament starts before the opening ceremony. :o
Football at the olympic games doesn't really matter, but watching Brasil will be fun for sure. Sort of a preview for the 2014 world cup, the team won't look that different there.

I asked that question on a bit of a long-shot since I thought only Korean footballers who do well at World Cups. That's pretty cool. I'd like to see him play on Arsenal for a few more years.

Not that i care for the women tournament but do they have the 3 player rule as well? And is that rule new? I didn't know that yet and must say it makes the football tournament a little bit more interesting.

There is no age restrictions in the womens tournament, it is the best women from the countries listed who are playing.

They can definitely make use of another tournament to get more famous. Although the male teams could easily set up enough players willing to play in the Olympics' Football tournament as well... It's sad they don't want another World Championship. ^^

Indeed, however from when i last watched womens football, world cup i think? Germany/USA seem to be the big teams? Yet if you look at the USA womens squad list i posted, 80% of there teams players are not with a football club at this moment in time, whether thats because of weird football drafts in America i am not sure, but when you see that many players not playing at clubs you think that they haven't got very good players :S might be wrong though.
|
Yeah, Germany and USA are the best teams probably... i don't know much as well but they're always the teams that should win in the eyes of the experts.
edit: and slightly less so Brazil. edit2: just saw Germany is neither of the tournaments, lol. Thought they're atleast in the women one.

Yes, most likely the 2nd best team in asia after Japan (current world champion) Group C is definitely the group of death, I can't wait to see USA-France, that game already tastes like a final.
|
Watching Canada vs Japa. Who do you think will win? Might be a stupid questing as Japan won the last WC.
|
Japan will probably win and they are now 1-0 up but there is still plenty left, this USA - France game has been great fun with it being 2-2 with still 10 minutes to go in the first half.
|
So that wasn't a penalty? Okey....
EDIT: Saw that she toutched the ball. EDIT2: Hope Solo is nice to look at
