I think the GB team screwed up. They don't feel close enough.

Germany against schwitzerland in a team time trial in the roadrace... That is quite a surprising development. Froome out of the race after having used so much power.

The lead group is massive, if any of them have a strong enough sprint, then GB haven't got a chance.

Come on Norway! The main group is done for, no chance for them now. Norway have two in the leader, let's go for Gold!

Hard to believe that the chasing group could have got their pacing so wrong :o

O'Grady is old and weak, but he can easily sprint it out. The questions are: Do the Norwegians and Swiss think they can beat him on the line or do they start trying to break away at some point?

I think the difference is the lack of communication to their coaches, they have to physically consult with them determine how the race is going.

Germany will be looking incredibly foolish if it doesn't come back together.

O'Grady has been out in the lead group all day, I think he's too tired for a good sprint.

There's a load of pretty fresh riders still out there.

I'd love to see LL Cool S try something too.

How come nobody except team GB is really pushing this chasing group forward, seems to me they all need to be pushing to stand a chance...

Are any of the big sprinters in the front group?

As I understand it even if there are some sprinters they should have too little energy to challenge if the chasing pack catch them.

I think the other teams left it too late, they're getting to the point where helping GB push up on the lead group may cause them to just overwhelm everyone and let Cavendish win. They don't want to risk it.

The problem with single stage cycling is that it seems entirely random who wins.
