BOLT never ceases to amaze people!! Both really, but yeah huge steps He takes 3 steps less to finish than all the others. His acceleration was actually not that good that run. He was pretty behind until 50m but then his top speed just cruised him through.

Gatlin tested positive for a banned substance a few years back.

Uh do you realize that's really unlikely that he'll ever go under 9.50 ? He already needs perfect condition to reach his WR, which btw is absurdly fast.. Maybe he could run under 9.56-9.55, but under 9.5 ? Wait for the 2 or 3 next sprinter generation imo lol.

Jamaican are probably going to destroy the US in the relay, Blake + Bolt combo is pretty good when you're other 2runners were under the 10s this year...

Yeah, notice how there's barely any comments from Americans here even though there were three American runners in the race. They only show the premier events in prime time on delay here even though everyone already knows the results.

edit: But yeah that run wasn't his finest start.

anyone notice someone threw a glass soda bottle onto the track right before the start shot, it was pretty close to the athletes

What about Nesta Carter? Guy has recorded 5th fastest time ever, he seems to only be at London 2012 for the 4x100m which seems strange, did he go out in semi/heats or something?

not too long and the americans invent their own disciplines that they show during the olympics to make their people believe they win even more medals

I think it looked like he injured himself pretty seriously there, i doubt hes going to start at the relay.

Because Gatlin used drugs. Even if he is clean now, he's still "bearing the fruit" of the drugs, atleast to some extent. Plus Gay seems to be a really nice guy, and he have a faster personal best. That's why he deserved the bronze more.

Powell pulling up must be a concern, but I think if he's able to compete there isn't much chance for the US outside of the Jamaican team dropping it, and that would be a freak occurrence.

Normally he is. Strong possibility of a WR here btw :D

Oh my god, I've never watched competitive beach volleyball before but it is riveting.

Great night for Athletics. Somewhat ruined by Gatlin getting a medal. Shame he didn't pull a hamstring instead of Powell. The Olympics goes on about fighting against doping and then let these cheats compete. IOC needs to stop pussyfooting around.
