Look, I don't like something like this happening also, but can we just stop making matchfixing accusations?

This isn't the first time something like this happened in Korea, and every time they just joked about something like this happening UNTIL actual match fixing happened. Now people are desperate to find a team that matchfixes and kick'em out when something like this can actually happen without matchfixing.

The sad thing is that there's going to be a backlash regardless of how genuinely S is trying. S should beat Prime consistently in any circumstances, but to lose 2-0 when they are playing for a guaranteed playoff spot and Prime have literally nothing to play for... it's almost impossible not to suspect anything. Assuming innocence on the part of SKT, they would then be in the really uncomfortable position of either encouraging both teams to go for it and confirming the 'conspiracy', thus ramping up the backlash, or perhaps encouraging K to drop games to S, just to alleviate the accusations against them.

If we do assume that SKT are innocent, this is basically a nightmare scenario for them. I guess the lesson here is: NEVER piss off Kakao!

Also, just one more thing:

If you wanna accuse this, accuse every single team of losing every single match. Accuse every opponent of SKT T1 K of throwing their game to create a dramatic scenario. Because why not? We're just throwing accusations right here.

I hope this will be a wake-up call for OGN. People like comparing esports with sports all the time, well how about learning from the mistakes sports have made many years ago? Sister teams shouldn't be in the same group ever, even the idea of having the last 2 matches from a group at the same time is worth considering.

Matchfixing is the protoss is op of league. :\

I don't understand how SKT1 would gamble not having either team move on just to have "the better team" get through instead.

Cmon don't get salty. I mean this all looks really bad, there is no denying that, as i said before it just doesn't matter if they really wanna throw or not, it just LOOKS that way regardless.
That is the point where OGN has to do something to make it impossible to happen imo.

because when SKT K vs S incident isnt enough to de'q them so they wanna try to get away from it again, SKT can only blame K for losing to KTA otherwise the plan is perfect.

I think prime just came in with very good prepared strats. The 4 man push the first game caught SKT offguard(haven't seen that before), and the jax pick I think is very smart against a shyv because without a misplay, jax simply won't die 1v1 to a shyv, and far, far outscales the shyv as well. Second game I think SKT simply didn't adapt very well, and picked a comp that will just lose if the jax makes it to a couple big items.

Tell me why I shouldn't get salty when people are making serious accusations without clear evidence, and try to witch hunt people out of the scene.

This is what I think too. Not to forget it would be better for SKT1 S to go through and rack up circuit points so the chance of SKT1 K & S both to go to worlds this year, K already has 400.

We didn't think S would 2-0 KTA and we didn't think KTA would 2-0 K so why is it weird for Prime to 2-0 S.

SKT S are the Season 3 CLG of Korea. They have potential, and they play to their opponent's level. They put up tight matches with top level teams, where they somehow stall out a game, farm like crazy, and somehow win. With lower-class teams they just flop.

This scenario is impossible, Prime cannot qualify so one of the SKT teams will.

Also this isn't even about actual matchfixing, it's about limiting incentives and suspicions of matchfixing with some very simple measures that most competitions have used for a crapload of years already.

Even if S gave their all today, at some point with this format whether it's next week or in 10 years, there will be a case where a team will drop a game because it's better for their sister team.
