Lol the butthurt is strong on this one. Half of the people predicting Royal don't even bother to argument for it : they just prefer royal, and they just don't want europe to win (oddone gf's words).
I'm not sure they are wrong tho, I'm always watching fnatic with doubt. They are great but they sometime have a really hard time playing at their best (especially if they pick something they are not great with, unlike most Asian teams who mostly pick the same kind of team comp from what I've seen until now in the tournament).

a lot of people definitely butthurt in this one; Sneaky, Alex Penn e.g. ^^
Jack was rooting for fnc though . Also Tabe's answer was the best.

I get the impression I'm the only one who just wants to see good games.

NA scene does not like Fnatic lol!

Not sure why no one voted for tsm except nintendude. tsm got dis ezpz.
Also, that was an amazing set last night. Predicted sword to win it all, but after seeing SKT play how they were playing throughout the entire tournament, I'm not surprised in the least.

We all know NA player's cant predict. Specialy if we have the opinion of Crumbzz.

Just watched the VOD of the first semi. And I gotta say it was not as good as expected, pretty boring at times actually. Small champion variety, no interesting strategies, quite a few simple mechanical errors. I guess both teams were pretty nervous.
In any case SKT does not look unbeatable for Royal or Fnatic.
Royal is the overall tournament favorite for me, but anyone left can win.

I've never been happier to leave a fully played bo5 during the second game. I don't know if I should blame Riot or it's just the pro scene that's so not flexible sometimes, but that limited champion pool is driving me crazy. "Koreans; Faker's got tremendous champion pool; blabla" - and then we get this.
I'm fully aware that they it'ss pretty much a must to pick currently broken champs, but don't tell me it's fine when 17 champion is used in 5 games of a bo5 (21 with the bans). Whatever, random rant.
Let's hope Fnatic puts up a good fight. In my heart I'm believin', but those Royal games still give me nightmares. It should've been 18+.

There are way more good champions. Clearly the teams are mainly to "blame" here. When the pressure is very high some tend to just pick what they are most comfortable with.

I'm going to suggest that part of the significant camp of Euro-crankiness is due to having to stay up all night. Even east coast this was too late.
Which means the incoming games should be a festival of fun and rainbows.+ Show Spoiler +JK the have Fnatic in them so half the thread will be rage of some kind or another

So both teams battle for 1million dollar and u think they will risk will other picks? Aatrox obv is failed pick for bengi so they went for safe route.

Still pretty disgusting how limited the pool is. I don't think it's the Teams fault or the game balance. It's squarely on the drafting system.

I'm sure we'll see way more champs in roysl vs fnatic.

During the group stages I kept trying to tell people to settle down about champion balance until we got to games that were more evenly matched, and I think this series showed that Ahri is a really good champion but she isn't OP when you are playing against opponents who aren't vastly worse than you, and the numbers show it.
In series this tournament where teams took games off one another (up to last night due to length of series any series like this means it was within 1 game) Ahri was 3-3, if you are wondering she was not picked in either TSM v. GG game so it's not tainted in that way. As we all know now she was 0-4(twice for each team) last night, bringing in the score to 3-7
I think it's also worth noting, however arbitrary so I didn't include it, that OMG v. Royal, two teams I consider to be pretty close in skill she was also 0-2.

it's a lot easier to protect your picks in a pick/ban phase like dota, picking top first this series was basically a deathwish if you didn't take Renekton, it's not the whole problem, but it's part of the problem that Riot can't seem to grasp, for some reason they think more bans = less champions, which is just not the case at all.

Najin ;_; RIP my fantasy team ^^ Good series overall, not great because some games were one sided but overall very high level.. A bit disappointed by Pray+Cain duo though

I agree that a lot of this falls on the drafting system. Single phase with only 6 bans really means there's a lot less variation on the draft game to game, since once the initial bans are out, everyone's picking their own thing.

Exactly, apparently they feel it's easier to shut down niche team comps with 2nd phase bans than it is to counterpick them, when it's more likely that the opposite is true.
