Putting a team in a situation where they are directly in the playoffs but they lose everything if they lose any matches from there on is retarded imo.
[S3 Worlds] Quarterfinals - Page 207
| Forum Index > LoL Tournaments |
Two things as public notice: 1. + Show Spoiler [Quarterfinals 1 spoiler] + Congrats to Fnatic, they played superbly and glgl to them in the Semis! No one is saying that Fnatic only won because of the level 1 in Game 3. Please keep the nationalistic statements out of our subforum. 2. Riot's Worlds format is atrocious. Let's not beat a dead horse here. I will certainly be talking to Riot's eSports dept about it in the near future. I simply ask everyone to be civil. Humble in victory, graceful in defeat. Enjoy the games~ -Neo, Sept 23rd, 3:20 PM PDT, page 120

The EU scene is far healthier with pretty much everyone except MYM looking very close in strength this last split (and MYM weren't a complete walkover either). Similarly Korea has a ton of strong teams and that helps everyone get better (you learn more from losing than from winning and weak players/teams get replaced by better ones). I really hope NA can develop more teams on the level of C9.

You can bet that TSM would have been walked all over by Fnatic and it wouldn't even look close. The unfortunate thing is that they are all alone at the top, anyone wanting NA to succeed should be praying for the other teams to step it up and for new teams like C9 to emerge. Besides a team like TSM with such a huge fan base just has to stay in the LCS, no need for them to win international competition because no matter of much they fail, players like Oddone and Dyrus will always get 20k+ viewers everytime they stream. It wouldn't surprise me if they make more money than korean pros. How can you motivate yourself to train more if you can win so much money with your actual level ?

C9 are a very good team. Not quite as good as Fnatic, but probably better than any other EU team on current form, which for my money makes them the second best Western team going around. EU has more depth than NA in terms of quality teams, I don't know how you would even argue otherwise. NA isn't without hope; Vulcun and TSM showed that they are capable of coming up with plays and controlling games (for a while) but, as always, their decision-making lets them down in the end. I think in some cases they also need to be more ruthless with roster changes. Anyway, the important thing for me is that my Najin boys are through to the semis, where I expect they'll take on SKT (admittedly I know almost nothing about the Gama Bears except that they have a player named Steak). I think that's a really interesting match-up. It's hard to call which team has the strongest bot and top lane; they are all extremely talented and have their own styles, although usually I would say that Mandu is a stronger support than Cain, but I feel like he has been a bit off in this tournament. You have to give jungle and mid to SKT, which means that Najin will need to come up with some interesting strategies in order to take them down. I'm thinking from SKT's perspective that Thresh might see a ban, since it seems to be Cain's strongest champion by far, and they will probably still want to keep Jax away from Expession if they are on the red side. If on blue side, they could try to take Pray's Twitch and Corki while picking Cait for Piglet. From Najin's perspective, I think they might have to go all-in on SKT's bot lane - maybe try to ban out Mandu? Expession should be able to hold his own against Impact, and Faker is so good that I think the most effective strategy against SKT is to just ignore him and try to keep down the rest of his team. It will need some amazing execution to pull off, and Najin will need to keep mixing up their strategies so as not to let SKT adapt. Of course, all of this theorizing will be for moot if the Gama Bears win. I would be amazed if that happened though.

Yeah. So anticlimatic i loved it it was great :D On September 24 2013 14:36 wei2coolman wrote: Meteos is jungler koreans want to be. They're too tired being 2ndry ward bitches. They just don't know about lovelin, wards and kills. Sup son. meteos style isnt actually goooooood it requires your lanes to win 4v5s lol only looks good vs trash tier NA teams, it would get dismantled by any asian style (unfortunately we wont even get to see this since they got rocked by fnatic) i hat eit when people hype meteos and say farm jungle is viable. yea ofc you look good when you 1v1 the other jungler cause you just spent the last 10 minutes farming, doesnt mean your team wins the game when all your lanes collapse when put against real competition lol. fnc doesnt even have a top jungler relatively, it wouldve been so satisfying so see c9 style get destroyed by an asian team ~_~

Like I concur with saint that it needs the lanes to break even or win, hai and balls can 1v1 their counterparts in NA easily while sneakynation do stuff like ashe/zyra which doesn't need to even do well to be of use, it's like a bot lane version of hotshot.

about metoes jungling: i really like it, overall thanks to his hardcore jungle cleaning they had like 1-2k gold more than fnc due to his like 120 farm vs 50 on cynaide. I think it was good strategy in first game where in the laning phase fnc didnt have much potential to kill (both TP champs need some items to actually do dmg early and u can avoid obvious tp engages with superior vision which u could probably afford due to hardcore jungling). anyways after seeing that jungle style i really want to see more international competition. Riot should consider some showmatches in LA when all teams are there (or well they rather go disneyland i guess):/ edit: oh i also wanna point out that it was MYM that first started using tp in 'euro-meta' and they went 6-0 in the first week with it. Then all the teams picked it up vs MYM and MYM ended as a last team in summer EULCS. but still it was MYM who like 'invented' it.

Rekkles back to there lineup and Puszu to CW. Unless Fnatic really would win worlds, wich i find rather a bit to possitive thinking. Not that i think Puszu is bad he's doing amazingly infact, just that i still think Rekkles is better and more carry instead of supporting AD.

I think C9 did really good job and i really started to like them. they never had a huge gold diffrence n the first game even. about metoes jungling: i really like it, overall thanks to his hardcore jungle cleaning they had like 1-2k gold more than fnc due to his like 120 farm vs 50 on cynaide.
