I was most excited to see how Uzi, and to a lesser degree, Expession (two amazingly gifted players who were never tested outside of their homelands) would fair against some of the top players from other regions. As it turns out, Uzi may not even get a chance to do so due to Riot Gaming's obvious disinterest in drawing up a more respectable tournament design, and Expession will probably only get recognition if he carries his team all the way to victory.
I was really worried about something like this happening ever since Riot Gaming explained how they would set up the round of eight, and I'm really upset that I might as well watch some LPL games after the World Championship is over if I ever want to check out Uzi, and it wouldn't make any difference except for the casting if Royal Club fails to progress to the round of four. Seriously, can someone please justify the way Riot Gaming sets up the tournament, because the draws single handidly ruined the thing I anticipated for the most all year.

He's been in five OGN seasons. He's been knocked out in group stages four times. Made the quarterfinals once with Shield, but got smashed 0-3 by the rookie Faker and SKT. I really do think he's a promising player and wasn't the main reason why Sword didn't make the quarters of OGN Summer, but the team around him just crumbles around him for some reason. If Nagne, their new mid, can come in and play somewhere below Faker, but much better than Dade, then I think Pray and Expession will be in a good position to win their lanes.
I would have been more worried for Sword if they had drawn Fnatic, with one of the best mid lanes and a steady top lane going up against Black Sword's inexperience, but Gambit were shaky in the group stages. If Nagne can play decently in lane and not go full Dade, I like Sword's chances with how well everyone says they're playing in scrims.
Sometimes I wonder if your just talking to yourself through your posts. Yes, I am. Ah, makes sense now

Now Fnatic will lose due to you not being there.

How I wish there were 4 groups of 4 or some sort of double elim system

Is there any proof of that anywhere? No. Now get off the medium in the middle of Times Square, and put your underwear inside your pants. Did you not read what i'm complaining about?????? I'm talking about redbeards movement of the cards influencing which card is picked. Not that he's doing it to force a certain card to be picked. How does that realistically matter when he doesn't know what is in them? It's a classic case of Schrodinger's Cat, except now there are 4 cats in 4 boxes.

Bah, I wanted to see Uzi go up against a foreign team and now it's just going to be a LPL rehash instead. Sad day.

Who is statistically the best team going into the quarterfinals?

at least have the games be bo5. bo3 is just terrible for single elim.

there needs to be a loser bracket if they're going to have this random draw bullshit. how could they not see this type of situation happening

Yeah it sucks. If Royal had been in the group stages and not OMG, instead of everyone hyping and talking about OMG's amazing early game and how awesome Cool and LoveLin are, we would have probably had people gushing over how Uzi is the best ADC in the world and how flipping insane but awesome Royal's strategies are.
Logically it's better Royal had a free ride to the quarterfinals, but OMG picked up probably a ton of new fans this week. Cool and LoveLin have become marquee names that casual North American and European fans will remember when they're brought up in the future. If Uzi and Royal Club lose in a single Bo3, no one is really going to remember them at all or hype them up. This is why I wish they had the top four teams that got byes to play a round robin of their own, letting the team who finished first pick their opponent in the first round.

SKT1. The only other hypothetical contention based on play is OMG.
And to chime in, Riot you gotta let Royal show more games. fck. =\

Now that Ozone are out, the statistics are actually very heavily in SKT's favour, since they never lost a BoX against any team but Ozone.

Funny how no EU team ended up behind a NA team is this pool play. Thank god Vulcun beat Fnatic on first day and showed us who was the boss ! :o

Going into that group draw there was actually a 50% chance that at least one Ro8 match would be either CN vs CN or KR vs KR.
Which is stupid as fuck. Riot, you shouldn't allow this to be possible.

I watched it again just now and the only time he was even close to influencing the decision was for NaJin's pick. He completely stopped before NaJin or C9's picks and it didn't matter what the Bears picked.
