Also there has been a lot of chat about how the groups are unbalanced, however I think it would have been massively unfair to change them (obviously it is too late now anyway). If seeding is based upon qualifiers then it is perfect. CLG didn't qualify so have to be last seeds. RS and SK qualified in first so have to be in different pots, each with the third team from their region (TSM & Sypher respectively). I suppose you could argue that as 4 US teams qualified it should have been (1&4, 2&3) but that seems minor. I think that it is important to seed teams based upon performance in the qualifiers rather than reputation. Finally, I have been lurking here for the last couple of tournaments thanks for keeping me entertained during the downtime between matches and providing a level of insite the shoutcasters often miss. Thank you.

There is just no way that we completely change our tournament system in the middle of the season. As stated in the Guangzhou thread it definitely is something to consider for future events though.

We still intend to have CandyPanda play but we have a couple of other options should he be a lazy panda and fall asleep or something similar. As for the tournament, i feel Group A could go anywhere but my personal thoughts are that TSM and Dignitas will go through. As for our Group, Unless we seriously screw up i have to say we will finish 1st. I do think that Sypher will surprise people though, NEVER underestimate the French, especially Althor. Althor is still one of the top 5-10 players in the EU imo.

The rational behind the original seeding I imagine was something like this. We have 4 US teams so 2 in each group. 13 24. Three European teams so two in one, one in the other. Keep the top US seed and the top EU seed on opposite sides of the draw. That leaves one place for the asian team. Were they with the 2 EU teams you would have to have three US teams in one pool. Again I think that a case can be made that US teams should have been divided 14 23. But I guess you lose a certain symmetry with the EU division. By the way, am I right in thinking that TSM qualified in third rather than forth?
