Oh dear. I look forward to the salty ADC threads on Reddit. Shiny new toys for everyone else, just goes to show how shitty the crit mechanic is as a design.

Personally, I would be a happy ADC if modern assassins didn't obliterate you with half their combo or bruisers weren't pseudo tanks. You're so reliant on your support, and the soloQ experience is basically Russian roulette.
There's so much in this patch that I honestly won't even bother commenting on balance because there's no way to tell if anything is strong or not. But wtf is that Lethal Tempo change, do they want stationary machine gun Kog back in the game?

It's going to be even more fun now they've buffed AD assassins and for some reason decided to make an item that makes snowballing even harder for the best class at snowballing. Also really like they felt the need to buff lethality items when the only reason they were skipped on AD assassins was because the bruiser mythics were giga busted.
This pre-season patch looks like such a mess. First Strike looks rediculous for toplane.

It's OK, stuff like AD control mage Xayah will keep the champs alive, just not in the state that you would expect.
First Strike looks hilariously strong on high range ADC as well. Imagine Cait hitting you with an aa from 650 range, and then she continues to run you down because she's doing 10% extra damage. All while getting free gold with the "Not Klepto" passive. It doesn't look that great for team fighting (although if I understand it correctly, it applies to all damage dealt to champions, not just a single target like PtA). It's also in the inspiration tree, not ideal for ADC. So have to see if it's actually good.

What I read between the lines is that they are adding more gold and more direct and collateral damage into the game

Ok so while I liked the idea of Fimbulwinter on paper initially, thinking about it some more I decided it basically sucks in practice.
Why? What does it offer? Let's say you absolutely max your mana, you get around 3k.
That's 240 hp added and a measly 150 shield when you slow/immobilize. However, that's a slot for no resistances. It basically begs you to buy Frozen Heart.
You basically pay 2600 for 640 hp and mana (which you don't REALLY need, unless you get into super long fights and you keep using your cc) and some ability haste (which is not that great).
A Giant's belt is 900 for 350 hp. You're better off buying 2 Giant's belts, converting them into their items than save up for a Fimbulwinter.
The only benefit is where you can activate your shield multiple times (it's basically a temp 150 heal every 8 seconds) and have a damage threat on the enemy backline (or whichever you pin down). I guess math becomes fuzzy calculating this value, but my gut says it might be worth buying if you're planning on having long drawn out fights (can't believe I'm saying this) where you can proc it twice or more.
Champs I'm going to try this on to see if it's actually dogshit or not: Maokai and Gragas. Anyone has some suggestions for champs to try it on?
Also, tried it on Nautilus, but got kind of blasted. Perhaps my rune set up was bad.

eh,,,they don't NEED mana but champs like Cho/Mao felt infinitely better when mana was more accessible when ROA and that other catalyst tank item (forgot its name) existed. I basically never play Maokai anymore purely because the mana gating vs infinite resource tops is kinda cancer.

Just tried it and.... Force of Nature is the biggest bait item in the entire game. By the time it's stacked you're already dead or so low it doesn't matter.

Could Fimbulwinter work on Leona? I remember her being quite mana hungry in those rare cases when she doesn't get exploded soon after doing her job of jumping into the other team, so I think she would benefit from the item's passive. She can also build Zeke's Convergence which provides additional mana.
Malphite would love to be able to spam his Q in lane too.

I've never really had mana issues with Leona and stacking it on her is going to be a pain. Knight's Vow are IMO going to be much much better on her.

Havent tried it yet, but analyzing it I realized that this is a very niche item, its like only good vs ryze and cassio, maybe katarina and thats it, in all other cases you better go with different MR item, but then again, providing how good the MR items are, you better not go MR at all, build more damage and try to kill them before they do xD
p.s mages have crown..whatever item now so most likely you dont kill them 1st either haha

We are reaching URF levels of CD atm. This isn't the only example, I have seen my own games filled with people spamming Axiom, I've even seen an AP Karthus test it out. Idk why Riot thought this item was a good idea, it's basically a no risk snowball item, meaning that anyone who buys it can get incredible value out of it.

Something happened and I cant play league anymore, it doesnt let me in any game, even trainings. Loading and then - reconnect. I uninstalled and reinstalled the whole game and still, cant join anywhere. Anyone having this before?

I dont think it's overpowered on him, you give up a lot of value by dropping precision or domination. It is very nice his R alone proc both damage and gold bonus, but that's about all it does for him unless you can go on a sweet flash suicide mission. I'd consider it a viable alternative if you're on a team with heavy all-in potential so you can basically ult off cooldown.
First Strike Miss Fortune with Doran's Ring E max is hilarious. You keep even or go ahead in gold even if you're god aweful at CSing like me.
