Rapidfire helps mainly for hitting turrets as his AA range is pretty mediocre. Breakeven points for this suggest that its basically never worth it to buy attack speed. And only worth it to buy critical strike if it comes with raw AD. Any AS/Crit item you would buy should be only for the move speed. I will do a more through examination in the gameplay thread after i have a chance to test

I will do a more through examination in the gameplay thread after i have a chance to test There's a video up on the r/lol subreddit where a guy breaks down a lot of the math around Jhin's passive and item breakpoints for his first AD item. The tl;dw version of it is that, assuming standard ADC rune page + standard buys, if lane is going well you get a BFS into IE or Reaver, but if lane is going badly or poor back timing, you get Youmou's or Death's Dance. If we were trying to be objective and grab an AS/Crit item for it's highest movement speed, then it'd be either Runaans, Rapidfire, or PD (assuming you get to within 500 units of an enemy champ you can see). I think in my test games the highest AD I got to was like 450 AD with IE, Reaver, Runaans, BT, Rapidfire, and CDR boots. But for him specifically it might be better to get swifties because of how important it'll be to move/position and stay alive in team fights so you can deal damage.

He is a no CC champ, doesnt bring a lot for the team, you are obligated to win lane with him to be of any use at all and then split hard while diving their mid under turret from time to time and then back to splitting. Garen win condition is to drag 2-3 people to stop his split while his team does work somewhere else and build tanky + black cleavere

1) You probably shouldn't ever run standard runes[17% AS right? I am not up to date] though, since that is only a 4.5% damage amp and so the breakeven for AD is 193 assuming no other sources of damage AMP and 301 AD assuming IE/ER/lv 18. 2) The move speed on Zeal is 5% for 1200 gold. Plus 20% crit and 15% AS. That is the vast majority of the stats from the items you want. Triforce is also 5%. As well as a bunch of other things you want.[Health, mana, CDR, crit, spellblade, on-hit move speed]. So if you're playing the "i want MS" game then RFC is only buying you 7.4 move speed over Zeal. Triforce gives 10.5/31.5 for its passive. 3) Jhin will need probably less bonus move speed than other carries for two reasons. Reason one is his passive, which nets him bonus move speed on a crit and so building crit makes him more mobile. [Though the increase on bonus AS is tempting*]. Reason two is boots. Jhin gets almost nothing from Zerker's. If Jhin gets Swifties for 300 less gold he will have slightly faster move speed than with Boots 2 and a Zeal. He will have slightly less MS than Boots 2 and a RFC/Ruunans. [390 to 395] With those three thoughts i have a hard time justifying one of the classic AS items and more than one seems outright foolish. For one the passive it brings might be a key component of a build (RFC most likely). But two is a lot of lost power because his AD magnification makes AD more valuable on him rather than less. Jhin has high base AD for an ADC as well (113 at level 18, Graves is 102, Ashe is 95, Cait is 91, Corki is 99, Draven is the highest ADC at 105, Morg is the highest ranged champion at 115). So he gets a lot out of the other aspects of triforce as well. *Its possible, i am not ruling it out, that the MS boost from his passive from AS items is enough to make "one" of them core. I think its unlikely, but 30% AS from zerks is worth about 10.9% MS [taking into account the base assuming no other AS items] on each proc. Which is pretty substantial. [450 vs 430 or so for Zerk v Swifties]

When I'm laning vs AD I usually go sunfire first, unless I'm winning lane really hard and need to not draw turret aggro when pushing under turret. In that case I usually get some components of BC first. Versus AP lanes I usually rush hexdrinker, item is crazy cheap and good. Hex + W + scaling or flat MR blues give you more than enough MR till 6th item. Usual build is something like Sunfire/BC/Hex/Swifties for first 4 items, then thornmail if I'm vs a lot of AD champions (which is like 90% of games) and Titanic/Fmallet/Visage as last item depending on the game. If you dont need thornmail just pick 2 items out of the 3 I just mentioned. Edit: My Garen matchhistory: http://matchhistory.euw.leagueoflegends.com/en/#match-history/EUW1/32579067?champion=86 Some of the recent games have been rather unlucky, but should still give info. Oh and the 4/4/4 game was a laneswap, so don't take that one too serious.

I know for some junglers like Pantheon I need the 3 health pots if I want to gank after going gromp -> blue -> red for example, and then you don't get that much sustain per charge and your jungle item already gives you some mp5, that's spending a lot. I don't think I buy over 10 potions past the initial 3 when I'm jungling. Yup. I buy it on everybody and love it. I get by on jungle item/refill starts and on first back I pick up Hunter's Potion and the other jungle item. Yeah, it delays the smite upgrade/jungle wards for a bit but it keeps you so active on the map by keeping health and mana up. If the potion is at max stacks and you clear a large monster is automatically triggers that charge you would have "lost". Since I start refill, it only needs to replace 7 potions cost wise.

I don't think I buy over 10 potions past the initial 3 when I'm jungling. I buy it on pretty much any non-echoes mana based junglers. Think of it as a flex item that gives you 60 HP and 35 Mana from every jungle camp with the additional benefit of giving you 7.5 HP5 and 4ish MP4 when needed. It's only 250 gold upgrade on champions that can start Refillable Potion anyway.
