Time to start communicating within your company ffs. i'm sure that was supposed to be part of the appeal of these national leagues qualifying into challenger series but on the other hand you see teams in esl uk with 2 uk players it's not like they're particularly 100% committed to it. in NA counter strike what can you do if you aren't in the "tier-1" leagues (let's say esl pro/ECS/eleague/whatever)? you still have esea, you still have cevo, you still have esl, you have faceit, you still have lans. there's nothing like that in NA league of legends and there is way less options in eu lcs past the national leagues. why keep a roster together when there is jack shit to play for except maybe the occasional local lan? the way it's structured now there is no incentive to keep rosters together past trying to qualify for challenger series, which hurts the process. why try and form a 5stack to go through a gigantic open qualifier when you can find an investor and just buy a spot. it's already a chore to try and get your foot in the door as a player, look how long new players like lourlo and dardoch took to get on a real org despite being high elo and in the comp scene for so long. there are no inhouse leagues to get noticed in a competitive setting, there's no ixdl/fpl equivalent (though i vaguely remember hai and c9 trying to open one), every few months or so you see some post on the reddit or something saying something like "hi i am [high elo player] i want to go pro but i literally do not know where to start" high elo players trying to go pro just hope that the manager DMing them over twitter or skype is representing a legit org and not a Final Five/Imagine/Huma/Impulse/Ember. how is that conducive to a healthy grassroots scene to build up local talent? challenger scene is the wild west right now. all the current lcs teams aren't really gonna give a shit because they have the resources and ability to bypass the homegrown player aspect and just sign players from any region, but if you're just starting up it's like why bother. and riot made it this way. no solomid series, no clg invitational, no SK Trophy, no Go4LoL in NA, no black monster cup, no EPS in NA, no NACL, no lone star clash... "we have more international tournaments though", great, you have the top end sorted out, what about from the bottom up? no amount of residency rules is gonna change anything if the league structure is still a dumpster fire | ||

Exileh was the mid laner for NiP after nukeduck was banned. He was decent during his stint on NiP considering he had to deal with Alex Ich learning how to play Top Lane in competitive play. Veritas was an okay adc on Vortex in NA CS but nothing to special about him. | ||

Tfw you don't remember Exileh, who was on par with PoE/Febiven/Fox in EUCS. Move is a cheap man bengi. Veritas is an Oceanian soloqueue legend, who was garbage in NACS, but who knows, people might improve. And Pepi is seemingly done for now. | ||

Looks like a strong roster. Although it seems to me Badawi is doing dodgy stuff with the ownership again. Do we really believe that the players own the team now and would own the spot if they make it into CS or LCS? Who will be paying the player salaries, or just pay for accomodation etc? I doubt it is the players themselves. And these are pretty respected players that will demand a decent salary. | ||

I agree. also hilarious that the team most fucked by this rule is TL, the org that has arguably done the best in finding/bringing challenger talent to the LCS | ||

So if I'm reading this right, there'll be two series concurrently? How are we going to do LR threads? don't think there's enough users posting to have two seperate threads (or four if EU is the same situation), but on the other hand posting about one game when all the other posts are about another game seems confusing. Maybe it's a chance to go back to those old BW-style LR threads where people described what was happening instead of just a running commentary, for people who don't like to watch vods so they can keep up to the moment with both games. Those were always fun to read. | ||
