I can't agree with rating CLG the same as TSM/Origen unless you are willing to ignore recent performance and bank on the skill the players have shown in the past.
But if that is acceptable criteria then SKT is a tier above, Monte trying to have it both ways.

CLG 3 tiers above Fnatic, OG and TSM is ridiculous. Sure, CLG is the most consistent of all of those teams at the moment, but in a head to head matchup vs. any of the other western teams I'd only give CLG slightly better than even odds. The ranking makes it look like CLG is head and shoulders above its western counterparts... which it very clearly isn't, considering the thrashing they received from TSM in Week 5.

1 game is a shit sample size. Over the entire split CLG has a 2 game better record against the field and against teams sitting in playoff positions. They also have been in decent form recently with wins against C9 and Immortals. TSM on the other hand has lost to Dignitas and TL, their only recent win Echo Fox.
Week 5 was almost 3 weeks ago. I get it, I hate CLG too, but to act like they aren't the clear favorite of the western teams given how they've all been performing, especially recently, is foolish.

I think his rating system is ass. He never explains what it is out of(3? 5?) and the lack of half stars makes any rankings excessively murky.

roster changes probably incoming for Renegades considering the next set of roster changes from their reserve squad challenger scene friends in TDK:
Team Dragon Knights have removed Seraph and Ninja from their active roster. In their place: RF Legendary, Flaresz, and Trance have joined.
Seraph to Renegades probably incoming, Ninja seems to be the odd man out -- his suspension would have been lifted in time for CS finals but apparently he's no longer a team member anymore. Strangely enough because TDK's twitter has been mentioning him as most recently as 19 hours ago.

Actually, yes that is the case; even Riot's competitive ruling detailing Badawi's one year ban on official recognition in the LCS mentions that he's part owner of both TDK and Renegades.
Surprised me a bit; especially since no article that introduced TDK last year ever mentioned Badawi's involvement.

The IEM power ranks are just Riots reaction to the anti CLG bias claims on Reddit. We are still talking about the 2nd place team in fucking NA here. And they have a weaker roster than last split.
But who cares anyway. The official rankings have been so ridiculous that people stopped caring about them.
The only western team I think maybe going deep is Origin. Just because of the experience of their players and Soaz actually caring about big tournaments.
Would have loved to see Vit or H2K represeting EU, but there is still MSI I guess.

Didn't two teams in Brazil get in trouble for having the same owner? Isn't that why we don't have EG and Alliance anymore? Or is this only an issue when both teams are in LCS

You can have the teams in both LCS/CS, but you might sell if they get to LCS. (like Dig/Dig.EU, for example).
EG/Alliance was HURTING THE COMPETITIVE INTEGRITY.
