I like the new queue, if anything it'll stimulate high ELO players to group up and take solo queue more seriously, and we get to see some fantasy team-tier scrims on stream. I hope this was meant to be sarcastic, and you are a comedic genius who pulled it off with a dead pan. But if it's not the case, I'm glad to help out. Anyway, good to see that the inevitable crashing down of this new system happened rather sooner than later. I only call it solo queue out of habit, hybrid queue or w.e the fuck you want to call it now. If anything, it rewards coordination, which is a good thing. Solo queue rewarded coordination already. Yeah, you had to write, ping or have a good sense of reading the game, but it was there. People were not just smashing buttons randomly and eventually climbed the ladder.
It's still infuriating how easily some people can diss solo queue, like it was a clown fest, but here comes the almighty hybrid queue which will finally test our skills! Bah.
Not that voice comm would help out a server like mine (EUNE), but to not have it in testing for NA at least is just some next level stupidity from Riot's part.

If you're a lone wolf kinda player, then by all means go lone wolf. You just best believe that you can't get away with playing full retard like before. Also, people just automatically assume a 4 or 3 stack means coordination, comms, etc. Which is not always the case. Even when I duo queued with randos that friended me after ranked games, we never got on Skype and coordinated anything. IMO the entire thing is being over blown, and I think once Riot gets the Elo adjustment right per stack bonus, it'll improve a lot.

I'm so confused by why this system was created if Riot continues to pretend they don't enforce the meta.

If you're a lone wolf kinda player, then by all means go lone wolf. You just best believe that you can't get away with playing full retard like before. Don't know what you mean by that. Do I have to go Super Saiyan to maintain the same rank I had before as a lone wolf, because suddenly I'm going to experience the game the right way?
I am open to judge the bronze-low dia experience by testing it first-hand, so even though I smell disaster, I might be surprised. I'd still bet my liver on that 3 out of 5 4-men premades will bully the shit out of me unless we are winning, but let's hope that team setup will be scarce.
However, I absolutely fail to see how master and challenger queue won't be just a miserable experience for everyone involved. First of all, if you are simply just a talented League player, but not in the LCS or at least CS, then you are fucked. Yes, there are popular people like Gosu who won't have a hard time finding LCS pros, but what about the others? Why are they punished for not going pro? And as for pros, the games will either way too easy for them, or they just won't give a damn, because - especially in NA - games could already end up as a clown fiesta up there, and I can totally see two teams with LCS people just trolling the shit out of it. I'm not against them having fun, if I were to play with 9 friends of mine, I'd go for it too, but don't forget they actually gain and lose LP for this, which just invalidates the whole system.
And if you think pro teams will constantly queue up as 5 in a serious attempt te get better at the game and play hiqgh quality games.... hahaha. Never going to happen, as it is utterly inferior to scrims.

I don't see what the fucking problem is. Are you scared your soloq rank will drop because the other team might be more coordinated? Who gives a shit, if thats the case then so will everyone elses and your league and thus your relative percieved skill will stay the same.
Just play the game, jesus. I for one welcome our new hybrid queue overlords, it will make it more impressive when I carry.

i think i'll be ok as long as they take some measures to prevent 5 solos vs 5 stack premade and similar situations to it

At the end of the day, just play the game. I basically only soloQ, I only duo with alts because my friends are lower than me, but I'm not gonna stop because the game might get harder. There is always a point in every ladder where you stop progressing because the opposition becomes too hard. This point has (potentially) moved further down the ladder. This is great for high tier players, and makes no difference for everyone else, save for having a different color border on their loading screen.

Dynamic is horrible for anyone above d2. For like gold and whatever people are too bad to communicate properly and there are a lot more players. Also there is no mmr increase for being in a group which is the biggest joke.

I'm glad that even in 2016, on a game discussion board nonetheless, we can still use the "IT'S JUST A GAME, BRO!" argument. Seriously, there numerous valid concerns across every elo, especially high d/masters/challenger, and you think JUST PLAY THE GAME will suddenly solve everything? You culd literally make a stamp with that quote and apply it to every single concern regarding the game. I thought we've outgrown this cliché.

already had my first person q'd as fill steal mid with fp WOOO HOOOO
|
Not sure I get it. You queued as mid, somebody queued as fill, received support or something, was first pick, and said "I don't care I'm going mid" instalocking one?
|
exactly that, like I knew it would happen at some point but once in my first 3 games was not promising

The nice thing is now that's reportable.
|
wasnt it always reportable?

On January 15 2016 21:31 kongoline wrote: wasnt it always reportable? It always was reportable, but I don't know if riot was actually banning people for it. Now that people are assigned a role when they get in champion select, it should be easier to identify abuse cases and banning people for it shouldn't require a lot of ressources.

"just play the game" is not even remotely the same thing as "it's just a game".

I see high level streamers talk all the time about how they'd love to play their mains because they like playing against tougher opposition all the time but the queue time is too long. If there's potential for the other team to have more premades than you the argument seems to be that they have an advantage. It follows that this would mean higher difficulty earlier in the ladder, as long as you solo. Best case scenario would be the highest spots in challenger being unreachable solo.
|
Yea clearly playing with 4 random people vs a full 5 man and winning just because you are significantly better is better opposition compared to roughly equal individual skill. Pls
Without the mmr changes for groups you must play in groups or your games will be very unbalanced.
I do like the new champ select and I do actually like the idea of dynamic que but groups really need to have their mmr adjusted same as duoq was every season before.
|
The other team is stronger than your team, makes the game harder. Opposition is tougher. What do you want, a drawing?
|
i just wish they did separate queues for people playing in groups and solo players, instead of forcing me in this mishmash with random groups making solo rank meaningless
