There is nothing more annoying then people making snide non-ban worthy comments towards you and if you say anything to them back its a report and restrict.

It got an MS buff(+5) and a price reduction(200g) while it's main competitor, Mobis, got its in-combat speed reduced(-25). In addition, the current meta has a ton of slows in it, especially with the FQC craze, and the slow resist is finally being taken into account properly.

From what I see VayneAuthority is clearly stating a problem he has with a system and directly saying it annoys him, which is the contrary of being "passive agressive" from what I understand. On January 25 2016 14:14 JimmiC wrote: I do agree with most everything you say and suggest people who get offended mute as well. I just get frustrated reading about people basically celebrating the pathetic behaviour of raging on an online video game like it is tough and normal and should be accepted. When it is really a sign of low emotional control as is a tantrum about something trivial and meant to be fun. Gaming and exports would be seen better if people acted better. Parents would not see it as bad for there kids if they saw it as leading strategic thinking and team building. Riot is just trying to up the image of their project. And if someone cannot control them selves they do deserve a time out. In fact if riot could find a away to hand out spankings I would be on board as well ![]() I agree with the first part of your first post, but I don't see the logic behind the second part. Firt off, your first paragraph gives the exact reason why in my opinion people who "flame" do not deserve a particular punishment. They are "pathetic" on their own already, and their low self-control make them upset already. Why would you need to punish them if they are already getting punished by themselves, making themselves upset on their own ? The punishment is contained in their behavior according to you. And all they are doing is "throwing a tantrum" ; I don't know that throwing a tantrum has ever been a punishable offence. From what you say in your first paragraph I see no reason to "punish" toxic players ; I would rather conclude that they are a bit ridiculous, a bit amusing, and not really much of a nuisance, especially if you have a button to make them disappear from your screen, which you acnowledged too. No one "celebrates" toxicity on its childish level ("report nida she sucks", etc.). But not everyone thinks that being merely ridiculous and upset derserves a real punishment. And another problem I have with punishing toxicity is that many people don't make a difference between comments adressed at you without being agressive and actual "mean" comments. Basically you can throw "lmfao u suck" without being agressive at all, it can be genuinely funny in the right circumstances, but Riot does not want us to see a difference between several ways of saying that someone sucks and therefore the League population tends to forget about that difference. As for sports being seen better if people acted better, maybe it's a cultural difference between Europe and America here but I don't think anyone has ever had a great amount of respect for a football player, which is the European equivalent of a LoL player in "real" sports. Nobody thinks that these guys are monsters of discipline, are byond the rest of humanity as far as virtue goes, are loyal, have courage, etc. Which doesn't prevent them from being popular. Our football players are just that : extremely popular while not particularly respected - on the contrary, it is common to think that they are intelectually limited, etc., not that I agree with that point of view. But you are implying that a game and its players can't be popular if they are not respected.

More importantly, mercs got their tenacity reduced to 20% instead of 35%, so against slows (and as mentioned, with the spam of FQC, and the popularity of MF, Lulu, and shit like Tahm Kench and his huge slow, slows tend to be more prevalent than other cc for catches now) swifties are much better. Speaking of Tahm, if he's got swifties and you don't you won't escape him now, so if he's in the game he tends to warp things for the enemy team. Also since swifties are almost strictly better than mobis (you tend to reach the first soft MS cap with these anyway, reducing the difference out of combat, and they're obviously worse in combat) and cost the same, any champion who bought mobis now buys swifties. An exception could be some junglers who opt for lucidity boots instead.

25% slow reduction turns a 60% slow into 45%, which is like giving yourself a 60% speed boost.

Not everyone is toxic, not everyone is a fun, happy, positive person either. If you need to have a certain personality in order to not be scrutinzed than that's just bullshit in my opinion. Some are more vocal, others are less so, etc etc. People are different. Just play the game and learn to shrug off all the shit that's flung at you, because the internet, just like life, is harsh. Also, if people can't handle insults, why can't they learn to mute the people spouting the insults? People devolving into complete degenerates who start "trolling" and feed kills on purpose is a whole different problem though. PS With keyboard warrior you do actually mean people who start ranting and flaming right? I think a lot of it has to do with what type of person and environment you live in. As a New Yorker I must tell another driver or person to go fuck themselves to there face or vice versa once a day for something. It's not offensive to me and 5 minutes later it's forgotten forever but there are people who this would ruin there entire day which is really the only thing I agree with lyte which is toxic players can tilt other players in there next game. Do I think anyone that crys about being raged at in a video game is a giant pussy, yes i do but I can mute the guy qqing about hurt feelings also so I doesn't really bother me

This is the real world, some jackass yells at you for something you did, like mixing up the dude and his dates meals as a server or needing to switch lanes with your signal in front of a guy legally when it bugs him, you ignore them and move on with your day, you don't sit there and take it then call the cops after you let it escalate. But that's obviously not the stance Lyte takes. so not much can be done, a silent NA is what we live with, until you get to challenger and everyone knows everyone and people start talking outside of BS again.

I find nothing more pathetic than the QQing of someone who was chat restricted for being a gigantic asshole. It is literally the most humiliating thing I could ever imagine posting, and yet people here and on Reddit continue to do so and even get support for doing so. It's basically admitting A) you throw temper tantrums and have the emotional maturity of an eight year old, and B) you can't even deal with the fact that you were put in time-out and unable to use chat for a few games. You wanna tell your teammates to get over it? How about you get over it and learn not to use chat to make your teammates feel bad. You know what's easier than them using the mute button? You not typing. Grow the fuck up, learn that you aren't going to win 100% of your games, and deal with it. Have you ever abused someone on chat after they did something dumb, and then they massively improve their play and go on to win? Heck no. So why do you do it? You would rather be proven right than win the game? You would rather make it clear that THIS loss wasn't your fault? Guess what, it now is. A chat restricted player isn't the guy who says something offensive to someone else. He's the guy who gets bumped on the sidewalk and starts screaming because he lives in a self-centered world where everything revolves around him. He's an aberration that needs to learn that his behavior is contemptible and humiliating. League is the only game in the world that recognizes that behavior that would get you ostracized in real life isn't acceptable just because it's online and anonymous.

Did u even read my post, I am talking about how some people are just immune to toxicity because they have thicker skin If player A is in a game with player B and they have a teammate that crys for 20 mins till surrender and player A just says go fuck yourself and mutes him and goes on with his life but player B crys all game in all chat to plz report player c and then next game is still butt hurt in champ select player b to me is just as bad as the guy flaming. My point is by like player A and look them both with disgust and move the fuck on with your life. Honestly unless some throws the game on purpose or close to it I don't even waste time bothering to report them because I have better things to do with my life unforchantly a lot of people playing this game like the reporting feature as much as playing the game because we live in world filled with pussies who all want to be a victim of something.

It's a fun topic of discussion imo, I always enjoy seeing different people's opinions on the matter here. Maybe it deserves its own thread since people keep coming back to it ; it definitely holds a large place in the "game experience" in League of Legends. On January 25 2016 22:17 JimmiC wrote: The reason you punish them with a timeout, is not out of hate but love. They are acting like a child soyou treat them as such. And the goal is to change their behaviour for both themselves and others. This is exactly why I despise Riot's report system. They are treating people who are playing their game as if they were children, which creates a thick kindergarten atmosphere that really isn't to my taste. If I had to choose between a kindergarten and a lunatic asylum, I'd choose the latter because at least there's fun to be had there.
