I don't think she was played in competitive on s6 yet, bork nerfs and lw nerfs and damage to neutral nerfs made her a lot less op and more just good.
her ult might just end up being to broken to not get picked in competitive but ther rest of her kit got hit pretty hard on the preseason patch.
she's still one of the best abusers of shiv/rapidfire when played from the adc position, even after the warlords nerf because she has natural sustain, but I honestly don't expect that combo to last another patch (though I said that a patch ago).

It depends on your POV. If you compare releases to fotm champs, probably, but if someone plays fairly average level champs and wants to see them in LCS, like Singed, Malthazar, Karthus, or Amumu it does seem like new releases and reworks (particularly after inevitable buffs that happen if new champs are weak) will slot that champion above your favorite. Plus often things like Azir and Kalista are allowed to stay in competitive for months, while a person might notice that his favorite Xin or Sejuani gets crushed the second they sniff competitive.

Is there any other champ so dependent on CDR but which A) doesn't benefit more from Precision, B) makes good use of the lower-level Cunning masteries, and C) doesn't benefit more from a Ferocity or Resolve keystone? I'm running it on Jax. That seems like a ridiculously bad idea, since Jax doesn't meet any of A, B, or C. Not only is he one of the best users of Fervor and the Ferocity tree, and not only is the rest of the Cunning tree pretty shitty for him, but even if you ignored all of that and was determined to run X/18/X, he's still one of the top three users of Precision in the game.

I mean, yeah, new champ, people are bad at her, and as people learn to play her her win rate will rise. But I have absolutely no idea how you can say with a straight face, based on the evidence currently available, that she's OP.

The thing that annoys me most with Kindred in competitive is that we won't get to see them while Ghostblade/BotRK/Hurricane/Warrior/etc. are good on them. One of my biggest gripes with their "making marksmen unique" and "providing more meaningful itemisation" soup is that crit-less build, which were actually a pretty nice deviation, have been all but gutted. If anything, champions relying on little to no crit and still being able to output decent damage (Kalista, Kindred, Corki for his first 2, sometimes 3 items, etc.) was refreshing in comparison, and finally making kits that can work with hurricane because their steroids work well with it (rather than a bland AS increase) was, well, a good thing in general, but it happened to work with it too.
Putting crit on hurricane destroyed that and annoyed me a lot. I'm curious to see what Corki would build (do you still take Warlord's on him? Between the dual penetration and the ability-centric keystone, going 18 in cunning seemed appealing to me; the mage keystone in ferocity's prob better than fervor on him at least).

Generally it makes sense if a champ that gets reworked/released that they will be at least average otherwise why would they even bother changing/making them?
Maybe it is just me but it isn't possible for every champion to be viable in competetive unless a lot of things get changed like items and the way champ select works in general.
Pls stop even bringing up win rate.

I don't disagree with the idea that newly made champs should be at least average. However, the complaint people have is that they feel like thier favorite champ won't be in the LCS anytime soon, unless it gets a rework, which then it won't be that persons favorite champ anymore. Or they look at the Sejuani situation or the feral flare time, and they say "Lee sin and Elise for 3 year and we can't even get two patches at the top?"

I agree only with the last sentiment, there does feel like a weird bias towards feeling it out. They were so careful to nerf Leblanc sion got nerfed like 3 consecutive patches after his reason for being picked in competitive got nerfed.
It's feels super inconsistent sometimes
(To be clear i strongly preferred how LB was handled.)

They just dont nerf the champs with big fanbases and they prefer to leave the "big play" champs in the rotation. Which makes me even more confused as to why soraka isn't deleted already.
Dunno a lot of those old champs simply can't be viable in competetive unless their numbers get buffed to retarded levels and then they would just shit on everyone in soloq.
|
I guess maybe power creep is the wrong word? I mean if you ignore the balance and just look at the abilities that new champions have compared to old ones they seem much more impactful.
I think Illaoi will be strong however.
|
Well how does that not make sense though? Obviously every new or reworked champ is gonna be more complicated because they have more or less done everything basic so they have to go out of their way to make unique champs.
|
I still have the examples of both Zed and Ahri getting only slightly nerfed, not be top picks anymore (they're supposed to be assassins, although Ahri's thing is explicitly that she's "an assassin with more stuff than just an assassin's" paraphrased, so they should be situational related to the meta), and they received buffs/some nerfs were reverted very soon after. Not because we didn't see them at all anymore (which happened to a bunch of champs) but because they weren't priority/popular competitive picks anymore.
I particularly remember Ahri who didn't even spend 2 months after her mana nerfs made her actually in line with the other mids until Riot buffed them right back along with another QoL or two and explicitly stated in the patch notes that they buffed her because she wasn't seen as much anymore.

Also when they offering small buffs to champs that had been recently viable to improve the champ pool at Worlds, Lee Sin actually got a buff, but Sejuani nothing. The Riot reasoning was that Sejuani had her moment in the sun and therefore they were ok leaving her out for a bit, but that completely conflicted with the idea of offering the buffs.Considering jungle viability at the time, they fucked up there.
I'd say it's pretty undeniable that Riot has their favourites/a bias towards some champs. It's frustrating.

tbh I thought sion ult was super hype idk why they didn't want to try to keep it competitive (even though it got used point blank a lot)

Intelligence is only better than precision if you are a champion who has lots of utility and basically no damage threat.
Which is only supports, and even then only certain supports.
Soraka, maybe Janna. Alistar. That's about it.
It's not that intelligence is bad. It's that precision is so fucking batshit OP crazy good that intelligence isn't good enough to compete.
