Sure sports use subs but who cares about sports. I want to watch the guys i like playing on teams not warming the bench streaming for fat money. At least using CS subs meant they weren't holding people back from playing games. If only 1 organisation could have multiple teams. Yeah subs is pretty stupid concept I think.

Furthermore I don't see how this even solves the problem. In my previous hypothetical nothing is stopping CLG from just signing NME's player unless I'm missing something. Sure they can't play for a little while but if you need a different player you're going to sign a different player

I'm not saying NA talent is that deep but there'll be plenty of players who got shut out of the CS by being on bad teams that the LCS teams can actually try to develop. Or they can ignore them and send them paychecks which is what will probably happen. I can kind of see not allowing say NME's mid laner to be CLG's sub as fine, maybe CLG scoops him up and fucks with the challenger scene. But to say that C9T couldn't be listed as subs for C9 proper is levels of stupid I can't get behind. Furthermore I don't see how this even solves the problem. Sure they can't play for a little while but if you need a different player you're going to sign a different player TL is the only team with a sister/B team in the CS, this really isn't part of the issue. If anything Riot should say affiliated teams can freely sub though (similar to the NBA/d-league kinda).

So basically, send paychecks to guys who're already successful streamers, aka NB3, Gosu, Qtpie and so on, because you can't actually get CS players, who're getting "developed" and cba looking for almost nonexistent talent.

I don't have inside info, it just feels suspicious to me He did mention he had seveal offers from CS teams and also a LCS team in a recent interview with Vulcun. blog.vulcun.com

The ideal situation would be them having B teams in challenger that they could build and develop talent in while also having subs ready to step inn.

It's a sub league where the main team can play and then occasionally they play actual challenger teams in a format that I don't think anyone has a hope of understanding. The best, really. Everybody's favourite Rioter commented on the situation. ![]()

Company forced to back down due to community outcry. Company makes changes, and points at journalist for overblowing entire situation.

Let's be real, you're not expecting guys like Chaser or Fury playing in the subleague, it's just not supposed to happen. But surely it's way better than current landscape in the West.

Eh, it's happened in the past but I can't really think of many instances where any team got really screwed over by it, but the potential is still there. Probably the best example would have been TSM pulling WildTurtle from C9, which could have really screwed C9 but they wound up getting an even better ADC. Another example would be Bigfatlp on Azure Cats, he had a pretty awful promotion series 0-3 versus CLG and then got promoted to CLG starting jungler like a week later.

Honestly riot pretending subs are something more than a waste atm is ridiculous. How is that a problem? Good players SHOULD be given good offers from the better teams.

The pro scene just isnt big enough for that yet. I mean sure there are millions of players but 99% of them suck and could never be even considered for pro play. The pool of people who could actually be placed as realistic subs isnt that big outside of the 100 players playing in the LCS and however many play in the CS.
