How are LCS pros building eve ?

I don't get the Eve picks in any region to be honest, Eve just seems like such a gambit early, you either snowball your lanes off of early gank pressure or spend the rest of the game playing a jungler who has very little CC and scales poorly with the items you're building on her.

I'll admit that as a semi-casual observer NA LCS seems very samey in terms of picks. The data seems to back this up.
While 52 champions have been seen so far there's a pretty clear set of champions that are favored for each role:- Top: Rumble, Maokai, Hecarim, Gnar
- Mid: Azir, LeBlanc
- Jungle: Gragas, Rek'sai, Sejuani
- AD: Sivir, Kalista
- Support: Thresh, Nautilus, Alistar
While every game will have champions not on this list, a full half of all picks will come from this pool.
+ Show Spoiler +Day 1:- TiP vs GV: Maokai, Sivir, Nautilus, Kassadin, Nocturne vs Rumble, Thresh, Hecarim, Jinx, Eve
- TL vs CLG: Sivir, Azir, Ekko, Annie, Sion vs Gnar, Ashe, Bard, TF, Eve
- TSM vs T8: Gnar, Azir, Kalista, Thresh, Jarvan vs Sivir, Annie, Nocturne, Viktor, Shen
- C9 vs TDK: Rek'sai, Fizz, Ashe, Annie, Viktor vs Azir, Sivir, Gnar, Thresh, Ekko
- DIG vs NME: Nautilus, Azir, Reksai, Hecarim, Sivir vs Rumble, Sejuani, Jinx, Jayce, Annie
Day 2:- GV vs TL: Hecarim, Sivir, Gragas, Janna, Orianna vs Alistar, Gnar, Rek'sai, Vayne, Viktor
- TiP vs C9: Maokai, Sivir, Alistar, Orianna, Lee Sin vs Rumble, Nocturne, Jinx, Annie, Viktor
- TSM vs CLG: Rumble, Azir, Alistar, Tristana, Jarvan vs Sivir, Thresh, Gnar, Evelyn, Kog'maw
- TDK vs DIG: Sivir, Gragas, Nautilus, Viktor, Vladimir vs Thresh, Azir, Rek'sai, Hecarim, Corki
- T8 vs NME: Kalista, Rek'sai, Morgana, Vladimir, Shen vs Sivir, Nautilus, Varus, Olaf, Annie
Out of 100 picks champions on the list were chosen 52 times. Sivir was actually picked in every single game.
There were some new or newish faces, such as Shen, Orianna, Tristana and even Olaf, but for the most part the games felt the same as those we've seen the past few weeks. It's not just champions, meta has something to do with it, but it's making NA LCS boring.

I really just don't get it into RekSai. If she and Gragas are banned, though it's not bad because it's a nunu deny and then nothing else really has aoe plus earlygame pressure.
Sccip probably knows more though.

I don't get why anybody would build Trailblazer on any champion ever. You basically concede a fighting summoner for no substantial gain. Even on stuff like Eve you're way better off picking up red smite and buying a couple pots.

then it shouldn't be a surprise that the team doing the best with Eve js Najin, super strong lanes + Eve forces you to play like a gaping Vag for the first 20 min. Just having Eve on a team is a huge advantage if you are playing respectfully, I usually ban Eve when I'm first pick, not because I think the hero is OP but because I feel like the way I'm forced to play either gives my lane opponent a huge advantage or leaves me exposed to feeding.

I used to think this way too about my Junglers but I came to the realization that faster jungle clears means more money and that translates into faster power spikes. In my case, it was with Diana. From level 4-9, she has a decent kit for jungling but with Blasting Smite, you really breeze thru your side of the jungle. I find fast clear times rather important for Diana, considering how big a difference that first NLR can be.
Also obligatory mention of Nunu with Ranger's, because steal more things.
I def agree combat Smites are better (Stalker's or Skirmisher's, based on your preference) but it's definitely not 100% black and white. I'd say for Sej, I like Stalker's but apparently everyone and their mom also go Ranger's on her too. Probably for the same reason as above but you can buy cheaper item prereqs for Sej and nothing is as expensive as an NLR.

So the latest Mic Check (episode 17) has the comms for Fenix's play against CLG if you care to listen, it's around 1:47.

Well, most currently played junglers, unlike Diana, can clear the small monsters pretty well, so they don't need Trailblazer for the AoE. On every jungler that can clear the small minions it's effectively a waste imo, because you can still just smite the big guy for the same effect but now you also have an extra combat summoner. For stuff like Nunu and Diana it does make sense though. Kinda.

trailblazer is really good on champions with bad clears. the sustain helps too and obviously more gold/xp or more time to gank are gonna translate better into lategame better than a blue smite like you have to get it on xin and probably stuff like rengar jarvan whatever else doesnt clear well

Most of the champs in this list are just so obviously superior to most alternatives simply because they do everything and have no real weaknesses. I can see why maybe reksai and sivir and maokai and alistar/naut mightn't necessarily be OP but most of the ones on the list have been insanely good for ages

On both Xin and Rengar going red smite is a pretty good option, but that's more of a stylistic choice as well. On Jarvan I guess it's the best? Anyway, the point I was originally making was that in most pro matches, with champs like Gragas, Reksai, Eve and Sej, people still go Trailblazer 80-90% of the time, which is just straight up a mistake.

Grag and Rek obv don't need Ranger's. Every pro Sej does but it doesn't make sense to me. Eve with Ranger's I can understand.

On Nautilus the mana sustain is definitely noticeable. Vi burns through her mana pool ridiculously fast too (especially the clears before level 9 and at least a damage item) and w/o spirit stone her mana-hungriness catches up to her hard.
|
The smites in the most basic sense fill gaps. If you clear well, don't get purple. If you've got a strong gap closer/slow, don't get blue. I liked Oddone's criteria for getting purple. Basically, if you would ever need to AA the small creeps individually, get purple. From there, it was blue if you needed it, Red otherwise.
Sej in competitive was unique because she makes shit use of Blue and won't be dueling, so you might as well farm quicker for 6. You were picking her essentially to give up the first 8-10 minutes if they went Rek/Lee/Grag and then smash teamfights.

Cinderhulk Vi's clear is decent, there's still mana issues if you try to hard jungle farm on her without Ranger's smite, but considering you usually don't want to hard farm as Vi it isnt as much of a problem.

red smite sucks now that its not on hit its only good to reduce damage I don't think its worth the loss in farm and hp and shit

I don't think cinderhulk vi is a good idea just because she relies so much on burst damage and she utility as she lives longer (assuming you aren't building damage) is really quite low compared to pretty much every other cinderhulk jungle she doesnt even have the sticking power to use the tank stats well.
