But on Sejuani not so much There's a lot of good talk about piglady in her strategy thread, a lot of mathcraft done courtesy of Ketara. TL;DR Abyssal is ok on Sejuani against AP heavy team comps as a 6th item. Core is still Cinderhulk/Boots/Omen/Locket/Glory. Those five items gives you a great mix of health, resists, and utility. Sixth item boils down to Liandry's, FH, Abyssal, depending on your final needs. In practice, I've actually yet to get to a sixth item in my 15 odd games with her this month. I didn't really give it much thought, I just thought it helps out my mid, ult, and helps me against their top laner. You could argue that Abyssal is good on Kennen and it fits his kit far better than Maokai or Rumble for sure. Again, I still think there are better options for Kennen but at least it's a sensible buy here.

Obviously, with his passive, it can clearly have some value, but its strengths go beyond just having decent stats. The slow is absurdly useful. Since you should be farming pretty heavily on Vlad, you will hit 6 items somewhat early, and before that you should have purchased Furor boots (I'm not joking). Furor plus Rylai's on Transfusion makes Vlad maybe one of the strongest lategame teamfighters in League. His Q essentially is a BotRK with massive damage and a very low cooldown. Vlad literally becomes unkitable with Rylai's and Furor. Sometimes he doesn't need that unkiteability and can build a stronger item than Rylai's, but if he really is having issues then the item honestly has a very real usage. Just sayin'. Vlad should be played as a two-rotation teamfight burst mage with sustained damage potential later, builds should maximize the primary strength instead of the secondary strength.

If these 1v1's happen at all, they happen during splitpushing. Besides that, I also think it's a great teamfighting item if you have multiple sources of magic damage on your team and you are somewhat close together most of the time. I like it a lot on most of the tanky jungler like Amumu and Sejuani. if you're 1v1ing a magic damage champion that basically isn't cass i'd prefer banshees every time to block a hard CC or one of their burst spells

First of all, when have Maokai and Rumble been considered split pushers by any means? Yes, they have good wave clear but you are doing laughable damage to turrets. Neither champion is going to be building Sheen nor do they have any AS to help them split push (please see: Nidalee). Going into specifics, Maokai, really? Of all champions, you're going to tell me wants to build Abyssal? Not only can he not split push but he has a ton of other items to build instead for MR. Merc is pretty much default. Locket is so many ways better than Abyssal. I'd even put both Cowl upgrades over Abyssal for entman. Bottom line, Abyssal is terrible choice (out of the many options) for Maokai. I don't think this one is even up for debate. Rumble on the other hand, Abyssal on him, maybe? I honestly don't recall the last pro game where I've seen a Rumble go Abyssal but in most dueling instances, even against an AP champion, I'd much rather have a Zhonya's than Abyssal. The armor may be less useful than the MR but after running your full spell rotation on Rumble, that Zhonya's immunity does so much more for Rumble as a way to not only neglect enemy spell damage but also buy Rumble additional time to refresh cooldowns. Why would you ever go Abyssal here either? Bottom line, if you want to debate with me about the merits of Abyssal for a Mid Lane (e.g. Ahri), I'll hear you out. It's has its uses but I still think it's a bad investment. Please don't try to justify Abyssal for Top Lane, that's pretty atrocious. Malphite maybe? idek... Please don't misrepresent what I said. At no point in my post did I say anything about Maokai or Rumble. Personally I would never buy it on Rumble, although I think it's justifiable on Maokai vs triple AP in situations where you already have SV and merc treads. (assuming your jungler/support has locket) I definitely do like it on Malphite if you're laning vs AP, but I also see people building Athenes in those situations, especially after the buffs. Edit: On March 27 2015 04:22 Ansibled wrote: What's a normal jungle Amumu build now? The last time I played him I used to just buy dorans rings early. What I'd consider a normal Amumu build right now would be something along the lines of Cinderhulk, Mercs, Abyssal , Randuins, Righteous Glory, Thornmail. Other options include Locket, Rylais and Liandry's Edit 2: Yup, Ketara is right, Face of the Mountain on everybody.

It's not bad at all though, RG gives so many stats it would be a reasonable item even if it didn't have an active. I just don't think the added engage is necessary on Sej, she already has just about the most engage in the game. Actually if I was going to get an HP item over FH 5th on Sejuani I'd get Face of the Mountain.

Super wave pushing after a gank, laners not bitching about taxing. Too fucking good.

I like the idea of FotM on junglers, but building it after Cinderhulk seems sketchy - that's a lot of HP without resistances. I'd rather build it out of the Kindlegem as a 4th/5th item.
