Wow I forgot how awesome and fun she is. I was wondering what sort of tankyish builds people have had success with? Rylais Liandries Roa Zhona Abyssal WotA Gunblade Lich Bane SV? I only ever played the more standard route.

Abyssal is all right. Depends on if your other solo lane needs it/will carry it/who enemy team is. I don't like Rylai's on Vlad. Don't like Guise either. Pen build is deadddddd. Unless you're Rumble.

Abyssal is good 2nd item buy if you're going to go full splitpush build, against another magic damage splitpusher.

![]() Abyssal is great if you're playing in a competent region that understands teamfighting, AOE auras are just too good when the stats are actually used. Really bad for solo queue/LCS when all you do is skirmish 24/7 though. (Alternatively it's really good in solo queue when everyone just groups mid and a moves at each other for random teamfights? Next level.)

Maokai, and Rumble are fairly popular pick, and with fucking reddit front page of AP shaco, and new Teemo skin. I'm going to say, pretty often now.

With abyssal+revolver, you can just push their poopoo back into their turret permanently, without them ever having a chance to prep a wave properly before they teleport.

You're investing a lot for the aura and if you take that aside (because you're not team fighting as much so the aura becomes less important) you're stuck with an item that in the middle of the field. It gives just ok AP (compared to NLR items or Void) and just ok MR (just sit on NMM imo or even Cowl). I'd like to assume that if you get an Abyssal, much of that decision is because the enemy team is heavy on AP. In that case, I wouldn't mind just getting a Banshee's late game tbh. Keep the NMM or Cowl and keep building up your dps and convert it into a Banshee's at 5th or 6th item. On March 27 2015 02:52 wei2coolman wrote: They're forced to because they have teleport. Did you really just say that 1) Abyssal is good for splitpushers (wat?), 2) on champions like Maokai and Rumble (watx2?) wei, this is toxic as fk.

Besides that, I also think it's a great teamfighting item if you have multiple sources of magic damage on your team and you are somewhat close together most of the time. I like it a lot on most of the tanky jungler like Amumu and Sejuani.

I like it a lot on most of the tanky jungler like Amumu and Sejuani. You're agreeing with wei in theory, which isn't saying much in this case tbh. First of all, when have Maokai and Rumble been considered split pushers by any means? Yes, they have good wave clear but you are doing laughable damage to turrets. Neither champion is going to be building Sheen nor do they have any AS to help them split push (please see: Nidalee). Going into specifics, Maokai, really? Of all champions, you're going to tell me wants to build Abyssal? Not only can he not split push but he has a ton of other items to build instead for MR. Merc is pretty much default. Locket is so many ways better than Abyssal. I'd even put both Cowl upgrades over Abyssal for entman. Bottom line, Abyssal is terrible choice (out of the many options) for Maokai. I don't think this one is even up for debate. Rumble on the other hand, Abyssal on him, maybe? I honestly don't recall the last pro game where I've seen a Rumble go Abyssal but in most dueling instances, even against an AP champion, I'd much rather have a Zhonya's than Abyssal. The armor may be less useful than the MR but after running your full spell rotation on Rumble, that Zhonya's immunity does so much more for Rumble as a way to not only neglect enemy spell damage but also buy Rumble additional time to refresh cooldowns. Why would you ever go Abyssal here either? Bottom line, if you want to debate with me about the merits of Abyssal for a Mid Lane (e.g. Ahri), I'll hear you out. It's has its uses but I still think it's a bad investment. Please don't try to justify Abyssal for Top Lane, that's pretty atrocious. Malphite maybe? idek...
