Especially when you take into account that in that region of the world the LGBT community is less accepted culturally in the first place. It's not right, but you can't expect them to skip a few steps of LGBT acceptance just because we as the western world already passed those steps. I don't get it, you're saying we shouldn't create backlash just because their society is inferior? Inferior societies and terrible decisions associated with them is exactly what backlash was made for

I can't speak for other people, but I wasn't really all that surprised when I heard about the limitation. I'm excited to force our superior western cultural values on them, though :3

externally bashing isnt that useful though they just gonna ignore the crazy euros

A society isn't inferior just because it doesn't have western values (yet) and there's a big difference between "I don't understand the backlash" and "no backlash whatsoever is warranted". This was obviously a well intentioned ruling to support the female scene, though it was poorly worded and executed (especially the part about 'gays'). We also have to understand the fact that they're what you call an "inferior society", just like you understand why your grandfather who fought in WW2 is racist towards Germans, even though you disagree with it and it isn't accepted by today's standards. Knowing and understanding why something happens is not the same as saying you should accept it happening.

He responded exactly to what you wrote, can you explain why you think it's non-relevant?

If you say you don't understand why there is any backlash then you are, in fact, saying that there shouldn't be any backlash [in your opinion].
Only worded a bit more PC because we're all about that aren't we.

Asking people to read doesn't help your communication in any way whatsoever. Everyone read your post. Nobody is putting any words in your mouth. Nobody said you were agreeing with it. You're not the only one who understands things aren't exactly the same as they are in the west.

Forget it, I'm not getting into this. If you really think what you were responding to is what I in fact said than there's no hope for this discussion. Have fun with your pitchforks.

I didn't say that you said anything I asked you a question and you accused me of not reading your post. Your post is clearly not self-evident, so stop acting like it is.
What do you mean the "extent of the backlash" some white guys saying it's a bad thing isn't a backlash there has been no riots or anything actually happen to them

How about you actually enter the discussion and answer questions and respond to criticism instead of saying "That isn't what I said, please read my post" to everyone who clearly read your post but apparently interpreted the same situation differently. The point of communication is that everyone understand what you're trying to say, and even if they do understand what you are saying they might offer a point of view on it that's something you didn't think about and so you think they are talking about something else.

You didn't say anything about keeping anything in mind. Scip expressed confusion at your post, specifically about the backlash point, and then you told him in the most passive aggressive way that he should read your post when he clearly fucking read it. Essentially you're saying you should kept into mind their culture is different and you don't understand the backlash. Scip addressed this point in the most direct way and then challenged your view that you shouldn't criticize cultures that are backward I don't necessarily agree with him but you're absolutely achieving nothing by your posts when you could have probably won that point because from what we see culture change does take time and we can't do too much about it directly.

If you don't want people to "misunderstand" your posts you should word them more carefully. Says the person who accuses everyone of not reading his posts. Also a very non-relevant and derailing post but then so is mine. How about you respond to a single fucking point with any form of reason instead of going full ad hominem on everyone who uses the quote button with your name on it.

That's really not the same thing at all. He didn't say "there shouldn't be any backlash", he said "I don't understand the backlash" followed by clarifying that he meant the extent of the backlash. As in, he agrees that there was an issue, but that the issue wasn't big enough to warrant a shitstorm. That's how I interpreted it at least.

I'm sorry but a society that hates gay people is inferior to a society that doesn't. That's just black and white herp derp obvious right there.
