#nobias As strange as this might sound, I actually think Doublelift should retire as a player. It's a testament to how good he is that he's almost the only player who's been playing as long as he has that can still keep up, but honest, him getting into a different role in the scene with his experience would both help the scene more as a whole, and help himself more than another season of going nowhere on CLG. It doesn't sound strange at all for somebody who's at best the 4th best in their role in the weakest region in the world. Kind of like how HSGG retired when he was around the same position. The way he plays and thinks is absolutely toxic to a functional team and far more detrimental than a player who is worse than he is individually but is actually capable of being part of a group would be.
How is NA the weakest region in the world...?

How can you say NA is the weakest region? GPL has consistently placed last in every international competition, Europe and NA keep exchanging placements in international competition, so they're even.

Apparently I get 110 ping on EUW playing from Toronto. Who plays on EUW here? I am considering the prospect of moving one of my accounts there...

Let's all be Europeans!

clg is still stuck in s2.

I feel like Doublelift's one of the sadder storylines in pro play. Him and aphro are such a good botlane actually, their plays and synergy are really awesome to watch even in the tedious lcs format and CLG has shown, every single season, flashes of brilliance. I mean, come on, their run with Nien where they were tied for so long only to choke superhard in playoffs. It's all going to end up with him being a bitter ex pro gamer lashing out at everyone asking him for help (no just kidding, he seems like a cool quite laid back guy actually) Would be cool if CLG finally got a passionate midlaner instead of some semi depressed/introverted one. At least that's what Link gave off in that Chasing The Cup thing

I actually sometimes wonder why East Coast people don't actually play on EUW considering it's considered more competitive and they say they literally have better ping than on NA.

I dont want to pay for a transfer and riot has us strung along on hope since they said they'd fix the issue for years now.

Kupon3ss is never wrong. Turkey, Brazil, LA North and South, OCE and Russia are much stronger regions than NA. You just can't argue with his sound logic!

Are you on LAN, PX? Your ping there would probably be like... 12 or some shit.

sure, if you consider those individual regions, then sure
But looking at things historically at more or less the only tournament that matters - the most riot approved one S2 featured a winner from SEA with NA being clearly the weakest region S3 featured a winner from Korea, with EU and China both having a pair of semifinalists and SEA/NA being roughly equal S4 saw NA get their shit together a bit and end up edging out EU
The grand total of NA wins at international tournaments over the last 3 years is... IEM San Jose... and BotA?
oh and an MLG and IGN from like 2012
NA may not be absolutely last since S4 finals, but it has indeed historically been the weakest region
|
Historically, yes, but then you have to frame it that way otherwise the statement of NA being the worst is misleading at worst and poorly communicated at best.
|
The context is piglet and doublelift as adcs historically based on their performances
Of course the discussion of players and their ability in that context is about the past timeframes, as neither player was at worlds s4

Part of me wants to. but if things ever get fixed i have to spend like 20 dollars to go back to NA. and thats horseshit. riot doesn't get my money because they can't run a region properly. besides. its not free anymore.

They'll fix East Coast once they add replays into the client. Or Magma Chamber. Or both.

Side note: the official replay system has been on the PBE for close to 2 years now.

its been on the PBE every version, but the way riot does version controll and patching is actually atrocious in the way that the game just does straight up overwriting of changed files and thus they have no real way of creating a replay system with any amount of backwards compatibility.

replay lol. why would riot provide free competition to their tourney coverage.
