It's one of those things where I could never understand the obsession everyone else had with it. Yango we just wanna feel loved. Yeah, I dunno, as long as I remember TL was always the place where you could just be a nerd and be accepted. It's weird that I can go to work at a professional firm with a group of 60 year old businesmen and be accepted for having an interest in playing and watching competitive LoL and no one bats an eye, but the place where I felt safest in my love for games growing up kind of shuns it for no apparent reason. Weird how the world has changed since I was like 13. Surreal almost. You have coworkers that watch/play League? Or they're just open-minded? A little of column A, a little of column B. I had BW and LoL right below my skills, previous job experience and beside my hockey playing history. I actually talked about jungling in my interview, compared it to management because you control the and strategy but I'm order to be successful you need enable your team to be successful and often times take the backseat in terms of credit. I'm pretty sure they just thought I had a huge pair. Haha. There are a huge set of transferable skills from playing gang's competitively. I talked about bw style replay reviewing as well. That's pretty cool to hear.

Bear in mind I was laning vs a Silver Gnar in a Normal. But still... Gnar is pretty damn good at solo q imo. He's up there in terms of Teemo and Nidalee in regards to lane bully from level 1 on. Yes, you have less control over your ulti but if you become proficient enough with the little guy, you'll manage to time your team fights where you have over half your rage bar prepared. He's easily a solid pick if you want to practice Top.

Bear in mind I was laning vs a Silver Gnar in a Normal. But still... People build like an ad carry and then wonder why when they turn big they die instantly. I think Gnar should build like maybe btork, and then flat tank. Hyper does enough damage on its own. I'm more inclined with Bruta or Hexdrinker build (depending on your enemy lane/team comp) into pure tank. I haven't tried BotRK personally but it feels like quite an investment to go glass cannon like that. I've also played against really good Gnars that go straight Trinity and he snowballs pretty hard off that one item.

I haven't played League in a couple months, but if I can use muh pirate again, I'm patching that shit 5 minutes ago. I've been playing Top GP for two weeks now and the new ulti is only going to make him better. Typically open Flask (Shield against Riven, for example) and back on 800 gold for Avarice. Trinity or FBG (the slow is great against enemy melee carries and ADCs, gl kiting), IE or Hydra (relying on Parley poke or are you going to auto more), Omen, Banshee's, Shiv (actually I don't know the timing for Shiv, I feel like I only get it for the MS). If you get a good lane matchup where you can farm completely uncontested, it's not hard to get Trinity/IE by 25 min and crit people for 500+ with Parley. Definitely TP/Flash. Map control with ulti and you only TP in if you can clean up. Otherwise, stay top. It's very Nidalee-esque.

Push all day, assist fights on other half of map with ult and/or TP Before, he used to be a okay splitpusher in lategame. now he's probably decent in lategame. Not to mention with the new ult, he has the option of sticking with team, and using the ult to clear waves, since the wave clear will be more consistent. his wave clear isn't as good with the ult except where the creeps actually meet. his ult will fail to kill a wave walking underneath it unless they stop. But what if you build Rylais? Then they'll be reaaaally slow underneath it.

It's more about how little support they give this community than anything else. TL picking up an LoL team is a dream because we pretend that TL will actually support this place/LoL one day. Even if they don't do something like pick up a team, the least they could do was admit they made a mistake by letting their LoL staff die. A big reason being because they gave them no support. This lack of staff support also lead to the decline in the quality of the sub-forum. I'm pretty sure that's what people want more than a TL LoL team.
What part of this community still exists like it did before? Most of the higher level players don't post too often any more due to the quality of the board. There are still people continually giving bad suggestions, and repeating bad ideas. It might be easier for people to pretend this place is still the same as before, but that isn't true at all.

On a more GD related note, Azir seems to be a pretty interesting champion. I found his Q interaction with his soldiers a bit difficult to use when I tried him out. Was that a bug related or is that just how his Q interacts?

Azir Q still seems a little bit buggy, won't cast sometimes when you press it and has to be pressed several times. W E and R are working great now though.
His cast ranges are all pretty awkward and take getting used to. I wouldn't call it "bugs" per se, just things where the circles you get of where your things can go are not very good indicators of where they'll actually go, so it takes more games than it should to get comfortable with it.
And his tower is still much weaker than it should be because its damage doesnt scale with subsequent hits, but Rita said that'll be fixed in the next patch. Hopefully his Q will be cleaned up as well.

The other thing with GP is even without ignite you win almost every 1v1 early especially if you can cheese someone in a bush. Insane base stats and AA+Q+AA applies 3 stacks of passive almost instantly which makes it very tough for anyone to run, and if they fight you they will die. You can usually use that to snowball lane. Otherwise you can get a few levels in W and farm safely and use ult to get assists but you aren't really going to win many lanes.
Qing people with something like triforce+shiv+IE is ridic fun though.

Yea, the direction is the problem. I think it's just a break in my thought process on how I think it will work, and how it actually does work. I feel like the soldiers should move relative to themselves to position in the new point Q properly, but they sometimes intersect awkwardly. At least, it felt like that way to me. I think I have not played him enough to efficiently use his Q+soldiers mechanic.

It's potentially the most overpowered mechanic in the game, being able to magically conjure a turret to protect an otherwise open inhibitor is extremely powerful especially for anti-splitpush/backdoor. Even vs 5 on 5 baron pushes it can patch up an otherwise open inhibitor.

I thought it didn't work for inhibitor or nexus towers?

I feel it's more powerful in pushing than in defense. How do you stop a siege at your T2 that has a enemy tower at your T1?

It also delays aram for ages. Lool.

Watching qtpie play sion mid is some funny shit.
Also riot have made some awesome attack animations for towers on big gnar/sion.

Cloth + 5 pots (maybe even 1 or 2 mana pots) is better against Riven than Shield. Riven damage comes mostly from abilities and not autoattacks.
