Its also SK that they are helping. S.K., the lamest of the teams, against Gambit, the most interesting.

Just goofy.

But if they took the high ground Riot would have a 47% miss chance...

I don't think it could be read as "we were going to win anyway". It reads more like "here are all of the obvious conditions we created to win us the game, that would be negated due to a bug that had no obvious impact on the game, in a lane that lost anyway thus creating no disadvantage to the complaining party".

I just hope that Gambit wins again or this current drama is just gonna increase triple-fold. God forbid SK wins and it actually ends up changing end of season standings, I will have to quit the LoL community for a bit if that happens I think.

Can someone remind me of some of the popular hypotheses as to why blue side wins more often on Summoner's Rift?

On top of my head, I got:

1. Camera angle. This may particularly make skillshot reliant champions harder to play on the red side.
2. Global objective position. Basically the layout for Dragon/Baron.
3. Blue/red buff positions. This may affect the ganking pattern of junglers.
4. Draft order.

Anything else?

I actually heard it's the other way around - red side has slightly higher MMR to compensate for the blue side advantage.

I know that if left to their own devices, minions will unevenly push lanes (i.e. one side takes turret first). I don't know if Blue consistently pushes better than Purple or if it even makes a noticeable effect when champions are involved though. The reasons you listed are all that I think I have heard of.

You're oversimplifying it. They explained the situation, and detailed how and why they believe that it had no outcome on the game. They then backed up their assessment with the rules/precedent.

There's absolutely no need for moral high ground here. Riot is screwing them over, and they are responding to it.

That being said, a less... callous communique would go a large way to giving eSports professional legitimacy.

Another thing is the whole direct quote from Alex being written with contractions and short hand. Looks juvenile.

I will agree that the direct quote should have been cleaned up, but that's the only "unprofessional" thing I can see about the statement. If you're going to criticize any party of compromising the legitimacy of professional LoL, point the finger at Riot.

I don't think anybody here doesn't think Riot dropped the ball at this point. Gambit is in the right here.

We just think Gambits response could have been less inflammatory. What bugs me some is that they didn't NEED to make a response like that. They could have made a perfectly justified response without it.

And I disagree. But there's not much sense in arguing it further. I'll agree to disagree here.

No, even if they contest the ruling, and they dont like it... the tone shouldn't be "they done fucked up. Go make a stink on Reddit."

The tone should be "this is what happened. This is what we believe. We are looking into the situation" Its a corporate press release with a serious (and only) main business partner about a controversial inter-company event. The fact that they feel the need to make emotionally charged pot shots just looks bad.

Small professional touches as such make a huge difference. If Apple and one of their main component distributors had some sort of drama, I guarantee the press release would be "a mistake was made, we are investigating the cause of the problem and hope to find a solution." There would not be statements of blame or anything like that.

Why are eSports corporations held to a lower standard than any other corporation? The only way for eSports to be legitimate is if this double standard is removed.

They're... they're remaking a game over a tiny ass bug like that? Aatrox's W proccing in two hits instead of three? And it doesn't even last for that long, right? Wut da fuck. Blunder of the CENTURY. Well not really but that's just really dumb.

See, but to me, it's more akin to the NBA going "The ref sneezed and missed a personal foul in the first period (quarter? idfk basketball), we will have them replay the quarterfinals of this tournament." It's just straight bullshit, and I would fully expect the negatively affected team to return some backlash.

You would expect the negatively affected team to return some backlash if they're going to be immature about it.

If they want to be professional about it they'd respond without the backlash no matter how severe it is. It's not like the people who watched the game don't know whether or not it was a stomp.

Is there any point in going for the flat CDR glyphs instead of scaling ones after the rune changes? having 15% CDR in the late game is pretty fucking huge. And since the breakeven point is at lvl 9 when most champs have their main spell on level 5, i dont really see any point in going flat unless i really need a little bit of CDR in the beginning. But i cant think of a champ that really needs it

Manaless champions like Renekton/Riven/Rengar might like flat CDR for early game bullying. Remains to be seen whether or not that will be stronger than other runes though.

The timing would have to be so very specific and hinge on success that I doubt it.
