I was getting between 4 and 6 lp per win in Bronze 1. Got to promo series, won them. First win in Silver V gave me 31 lp. What the actual fuck is going on in here? Clamping occurs in the first division to prevent people from fluking their way into the next rank by means of a lucky win streak if it deems your MMR as not high enough to be worthy of a promotion.

Basically it means that in order to move up leagues you should be about division 3 or 4 MMR in the next league before you qualify for promotion. Now you're getting caught up to where you belong.

lp gain is reduced in the first division of a league (bronze 1, silver 1 ect) to prevent streaks from pushing you into another league. It gos back to normal if you spend enough time in the division tho

Alright, thanks for the clarification. I guess it makes sense to have that if you can't get demoted out of Silver into Bronze etc.

TBH I'm not sure whey every regional finals has to be so damn close to Worlds. I can't see a particular reason why Worlds couldn't have been a couple weeks later than it is. The Chinese Regional Final is on the 7th and 8th. There's only a week between it and Worlds, which is absurd.
USC volleyball starts in September, Kings season starts in October, Lakers/Clippers preseason starts in October. The date is almost certainly the result of trying to find consecutive weekends where Galen center and Staples were available. The alternative is to go with smaller or outdoor venues, neither of which is that great of an option.

Please don't let Riot do an event outside again.

I dont get why Nasus top isnt more popular. I used to play him in jungle a lot, so now he is my go to guy if I have to top, and he just feels really strong. Ghost/TP, going IBG+SV most of the time, the resists work great with his hp gain from ult + even more sustain. He is tanky as hell with good tf presence due to aoe damage from e and ult and also kinda a lategame insurance with your stacking q. Why isnt he played more in the top lane ?

Nasus is a relatively passive champion.
While yes, a good Nasus can bully the enemy laner if he gets ahead, but many top lane champions no longer depend on AS overmuch, as things like Rumble/Zac/Vlad/Renekton are popular top, and thus Nasus is likely to face bad matchups (goodish [sorta] matchups like Tryndamere aren't commonly picked top, and his Wither was nerfed in those situations), on top of his passive-ish lane phase.
Also, his 2v1 is pretty balls unless you max Spirit Fire, and then you may as well have played jungle.

USA is also pretty notorious for being assholes throughout every step of the process, especially to a country like China.
That said, I thought our Congressional esports bill was supposed to solve these problems? That only helps NA players. Due to the league nature, guaranteed work, pay, and housing, they qualify. Foreign players are coming for a short time for one tournament and then are outy.

I'm pretty sure American players don't have to get visas to play LoL in America.
I think you might be confused as to what a visa is / how they work.
Edit: To explain and not just be a dick.
If I'm an American and I'm going to China, I get a visa from the Chinese government. The American government has little/nothing to do with it. Likewise, if I'm Chinese and I'm going to America, I get a visa from the American government.
The esports bill that went through congress was so foreign players could get sports visas when they come to America to play in a tournament, which are a lot easier to get than work visas. There are lots of different kinds of visas and they all have different time constraints and requirements.
So I'm surprised that there's still a problem, it seems like the teams should be able to get their paperwork done on short notice. But maybe not.

There are non-native Americans playing in the NA LCS. Edward is one of them and seems like a good amount of Canadians too.

Yes, being able to get a P-1 visa applies to Edward too, as well as the Chinese teams.

But there is a difference between them. Edward is staying in NA for a job (sports job) while the Chinese teams are coming for one week competition and leaving. USA government can account for what Edward is doing because he has a job there and is registered blablabla red tape. The chinese can dodge the return home and stay in the country illegally more easily than Edward can (because he is legal for a good amount of time).
Edit: Im not saying they aren't able to apply for the P-1, I'm just saying it's harder to accept them (because temporary + Chinese)

you are missing the whole point of the athlete visa. it is especially there so that athletes can compete in a tournament without being employed permanently.
