Concentration got heavily nerfed, no more 95% accuracy Charmshots anymore. EXP is now a fixed amount awarded at the end of each mission (scaled to your level, etc.), so no more infinite levels with Smile chains. Dual wield is still as amazing as ever though. And the new ability Mirror Item is just silly. For these types of games, if you feel that you need to complete every side quest before moving on to the main story, then the main story will feel hilariously easy; there are just too many side missions. There are some really nice side missions in there too. There's one where you have to fight a lone level 44 red mage / elementalist, with twincast and half MP. You get access to this mission when your party is ~level 8, so part of the challenge is to see how early you can actually manage to beat this mission. | ||

'tis 'k, there's still stuff like BG2 where I'll do most of the sidequests and characters' recruitment (and get raped in the process since apparently Haer'Dalis' is stacked with high level monsters) and still pull my hairs out and lose during the main one because of non-minmaxing and that obnoxious spell protections, invisibility spam and stuff. | ||
