A version of that build has been around since S3 started. It's nothing new. All that's changed is that people are getting lizard elder instead of brutalizer. It works on Ez because his Q procs everything. Lack of attackspeed is made up for the fact that with all that cdr you're able to shoot out Qs every other second and if they get into range your passive will always be full, and you're the self-peel-machine-from-hell due to IBG and you're going to be able to E out constantly because of how absurdly low your cooldowns are going to be from all the cdr+q cdr. The build can be stupid strong but if you fall behind then your lack of damage is extremely noticeable, and if your team doesn't have much damage then nothing will die. I won most of my games on Ezreal using this build before they nerfed IBG for ranged champs.

edit: oh damn ibg cdr got nerfed; that sucks. get brut+ibg+lizard elder for 34% cdr, hue.

I think that Ez build would be actually interesting with another AD on the team or if you did Karthus/Kayle (aside from the obvious poke comps).

i was wondering why an ezreal player built that when i was supporting him. i thought he was being dumb because we were in silver 5.

on the other hand i played really well that game and he did get fed early. i even got a compliment from the adc AND the other team said "report our bot lane" which is also a compliment.

I've been rushing Bruta on ez more and more. Seems fine to me, I tried Lizard once or twice, but i guess i was building it after sheen though. Wasn't super impressed. The battlemage style is hella fun though. Always run away and burn never not fight things.

you could put cait in the middle with ez on the bottom maybe. i actually think that would be fairly strong as a poke/attrition comp. the slows and traps means fighting you is going to be a nightmare.

I saw an ezreal do this when he was already behind and just go further behind as he started dblade straight into the lizard elder about the same time i got vamp and IE after boots/pots start. Its may be a good start if youre ahead and bullying but it seems really terrible when youre already behind in lane

LE and IBG seems like overkill. One or the either. But anyways I'm of the opinion Ez is pretty trash now imo; He's only decent in fight comps where there's no peel offered for him.

If and when they nerf Nasus(into the ground), you will most likely see Ezrael being picked up again. Not a fan of Ez, but the strong junglers in s3 play a big role in shutting him down late game.
