I would think that the quality of this stuff draws more and more people to the Subforum, but then again I'm not sure how many really new posters we've seen in the last little while. Maybe just more lurkers?

Given that Riot is drawing this out over two weekends, they have plenty of time to make sure the teams are rested before their matches.


But that's because those events often only pay prize money for top 3 spots (and in professional sports, the money is primarily earned through sponsorships rather than prize money anyway)--so if you aren't top 3 it makes zero difference where you placed. Riot is paying vastly different amounts of prize money for EVERY spot of the tournament. So even if you wouldn't have been the best team, there's an extraordinary difference in the prize you earn for being 4th or 8th.

If Riot paid out the same prize money for spots 4-12, and only differentiated 1st/2nd/3rd, I would think single elim was much more appropriate.
