What if these items started out with a number of stacks when you buy them, but could still drop below the starting count if you die? Maybe with some cost/value adjustments as necessary. Could that make these items interesting for all levels of play, and not just low level stomps? For example if Soulstealer started with the efficiency of a Blasting Wand at ~5 stacks, it wouldn't be a total waste of money if the game goes slowly. Depending on your performance it could quickly become bad or rise to (and beyond) the efficiency of other dead-end medium cost items. | ||

Varus also showcased the problem with AD carries that lack dashes and similar tools. Almost all of CLG's CC would have been easy to dodge with Graves, Corki, or even Tristana or Caitlyn. While a lot of Cho'gath's early ganks ended up killing Sona rather than Varus, it was a significant problem throughout the game for Varus. | ||
