I have a problem that I would like some opinions on. I play ranked 5's with four friends, and one of them is, tbh, completely horrible to the point that he is depressing to play with He has probably around 600 normal wins and he still doesn't know a lot of champion's abilities, what certain items are, he always has to ask what he should buy, etc. Basically, his game knowledge is zilch. He's also super defensive. Whenever he messes up or dies his response is always "THERE'S NOTHING I COULD HAVE DONE. NOT A DAMN THING I COULD HAVE DONE" or something to that a effect.
God knows why but he claimed top as his feeding grounds. He has no clue how to lane. He'd ask what items he should buy and, for example, once we told him to build wriggles and phage. So he builds Frozen Mallet and finally gets wriggles like 25 minutes in x_x After inevitably giving up first blood he won't change his playstyle at all and just dies 4 or 5 more times and rages that he can't do anything. This is sad considering he main'd Yorick for quite a while and still managed to never go even in his lane much less win it.
Originally I reluctantly volunteered to play support solely because I knew he would never agree to do it ("I'm not going to play some useless fucking support character!") but I'm getting sick of seeing how bad he's doing knowing that I could do a helluva lot better.
So, my question is: What the hell do we do with him?

She won't 100-0 somebody but she still hits damn hard with mantra charges, and going WRE on your bruiser when he dives the enemy team can produce hilarious results. She farms/pushes like a boss too.

So, my question is: What the hell do we do with him? Try talking to your other teammates and getting their opinions if they agree then talk to him as a group and force him to accept that he's bad, try to hold the floor I would guess that he would try to take it to defend himself and ruin the whole conversation. That's how I would approach it, but I'm pretty blunt and harsh I'm the type of person that would say you're off the team without much guilt. Another way to go about it would be give him as much information as you can if he doesn't know what to build tell him to get wriggles and then what order to get the components in. If he is losing his lane tell him to play more aggressive/more passively and tell him how like throw a spear in his face or only cs with abilities or something. Hopefully he would learn and get better.
EDIT: KEEP RECORDS so many times people will fuck up one thing constantly and say ''name one fucking time'' KEEP RECORDS ''name one fucking time'' here's 6 replays.

So I bought Hecarim the other day, and in ranked games I actually feel worthless. Is this hero just shit or am I doing something wrong?

i demand chu8 stream featured now will be streaming hello kitty online!

@Hyren: Thats quite depressing. You guys should just be honest with him, tell him hes bad and tell him how can you guys win when he feed like crazy. Also, support is not easy role to play, a good support vs a bad one is the world difference. I doubt your friend, lake of champ knowledge is gonna make a good support.
You should encourage him to play solo Q, so people will shit on him and he will realize that he sucks and will try to improve.

he's pretty bad, don't feel bad if you can't make him work he's not as bad as i initially thought, but still nowhere near the level of the farming jungles and simply not as strong of a gank as many of the ganking jungles because of the weird angles you have to force

Those Hecarims... Everytime i have one in my team they won't get anything done, untill now i just met 2 good Hecarims (both on enemy team ofc...^^) But those two have been super scary... a good Hecarim is really hard to deal with :S

Maybe i'm just a softie. Also getting someone new would likely mean shifting roles around to fit.

I agree that support isn't easy but there's at least fewer ways to mess up playing Soraka or Sona if you know what I mean. Also from playing support I've often gotten the feeling that I'm working hard to outplay the other support but at the end of the day I'm still limited in what I can do.

As sad it might be but if you are aiming for competive play or atleast higher level of play either he should start learning stuff and try to get motivated, motivation would be best since he's your irl friend, but also he has to understand if your goals are much higher than his maybe he really should be dropped out and you play with him just random games..? Just my opinion

Your options are either to ditch him, teach him if you can, or go on a smurf and then carry the crap out of him. Some people can't be helped because their bad AND refuse to listen

in the patch preview they said they're going do something about snowball effect. Like giving more reward if you kill someone fed, and to be able to comeback. I wonder if it made any change, are tournament games more interesting? or is everything still decided in first 15 min?

You get less experience for killing lower level heroes and more for killing higher level heroes (+- 2 levels before it's significant). Basically it will have very little impact on snowball victories - the ones where it the other team becomes pretty much untouchable.

Show him HotShot's quote where he says practicing 1v1 laning was very useful for top lane. Then proceed to crush him top vs top in custom. Not sure how this would help but it would be very satisfying.
