This a somewhat belated reply, but I remember someone saying earlier in the thread that Gold per 10 quintessences were the standard for supports. Why is that? They seem pretty god-damn awful if you look at gold value, and I would only consider them if the alternative was not having enough gold to buy wards (which isn't the case).

Philosopher Stone gives 5 gp10, 3 hp5 and 5mp5 for 185g, making the gold per 10 portion essentially free, since the other stats are more than worth 185g.
Heart of Gold gives 5 gp10, 70hp for 350g, so the gold per 10 portion costs 165g.
Avarice Blade gives 5 gp10, 4% crit for 350g, so the gold per 10 portion costs 150g.
Lucky Pick gives 5 gp10, 5 AP for 330g, so the gold per 10 portion is about 280g.

So on average a single point in the gold/10 stats costs only 30 gold. How the hell is that worth a quintessence slot? Armor quints by comparison are worth 75g, AP quints are 107.

Ignoring that for a minute, with the gold quints, it takes until the 17 minute mark to afford to buy as much Armor as you could have had from the very beginning with Armor quints. Given that lanes are generally decided in that 17 minutes, it seems the height of foolishness to make such an investment.

That was also a premature skarner ult on Chaox near mid. Nobody could follow up and kill Chaox in time so Chaox was able to escape and do damage still. TOO also taking the time to make it clear he still thinks Shyvanna's bad.
