How do I try out to play with the team. I have fundamental understanding of each role and I am looking for people to play tournament games with. I play many supports (Taric, Sona, Soraka, Janna, Alistar) AP (Gragas, Anivia, Malz, Leblanc, Veigar, Cass, Kass, Annie, problebly more that I'm forgetting.) AD (Ezreal, Ashe, Vayne, Cait, Graves), Tanky (Irelia, Ryze, Urgot, Yorik, Jarvan, Jax, Renekton, Garen) and Junglers (Noct, GP, Lee Sin, Nunu, Yi, Shaco). I use many rune pages and I am constantly trying new and different rune set ups and item builds to see what I like best.

Teamfights went bad because the front line really doesn't put enough pressure on their skill-shot based heroes after they engaged on US, and our team is obviously significantly stronger if we can just hold the line and let cait/xerath do all the damage. That 1337 down the drain really hurt his tanking potential and he wasn't able to be disruptive to brand + ezreal. We weren't even counting on him to kill them, but he needed to be a lot tankier.

- Skarner didn't ulti Irelia in teamfights. Irelia would just jump me in every teamfight (granted I WANTED because that would put our team in a better position if things worked out right).

- Me dying a lot to Irelia. As I said though, for the most part I wanted Irelia to jump me, since she always ends up significantly ahead of her team so that I can ult them all as they're trying to reinforce; that requires skarner to instantly ult her though. We just didn't have that coordination.

Essentially, my plan was to be slightly in front, bait the Irelia Q, let her get Skarner ultied, and then Sona ult the enemy team while we focus down the Irelia (she went trinity force first and didn't get her warmogs till a lot later; would have been easy enough to deal with it if we actually played it out properly). Even if my ult didn't hit it would have zoned out the rest of their team long enough since they relied 100% on Irelia jump to initiate.

What ended up happening though is that Skarner wouldn't ult Irelia right away, and she's basically beating on me the whole time. We'd end up having to use Xerath stun and sona ult to try and stop Irelia which is completely inefficient.

- Mostly a lot of coordination issues with Renekton, and him farming a little too much at the expense of securing objectives. Our biggest losses were when we were forced to fight 4v5 at dragon and them getting a free baron.

- I take a lot of the blame for the bad communication. Teamfights didn't work out the way I wanted and I think I should have made it more clear what I wanted from Skarner. I also didn't specifically ask Renekton to come down to drag or not to leave the Baron area to farm. On the flipside, I think eventually we need to get to a point where I don't need to tell our top to come down to dragon when we have the timer and 4 of us are gathered there ahead of time. Same with farming bot while Baron is contested and WILL die in less than 10 seconds.

-I think malz would have been a better pick vs that team. Xerath doesn't have enough damage to eat through lee sin and irelia's health pool and your team can't really siege too well vs the enemy's team comp.
-Yeah vs irelia unless she's really dumb and doesn't buy armor bruta isn't really needed and your team needed renek to build tanky.

I hate malz atm. Id much rather have sion. Malz blows as soon as the high priority target has qss, or if you are playing vs a team with a lot of diving potential.

Sion is a horrible pick vs lee and irelia though. He simply can't get away from the 2 and can't beat them toe to toe unless really fed. He will beat brand in lane but his teamfight pressence will be weak with lee and irelia in his face while brand will still have good presence just because of his insane aoe damage.

Malz not being fotm ATM does not mean anything to me.

Plus malz and skarner have good synergy together. It basically means you can pick off anyone you choose in seconds and then proceed to 4v5.

You are talking about 2 champs who can dive and blast malz' ult apart, both without even really trying. How is that any better than throwing a full duration stun at someone you KNOW is going to hit.

Although best pick for ap in that case is probably cass, morg, anvivia, or kennen- someone who welcomes having enemies dive in close.

If they dive malz it means malz pool and silence. Which is stronger than xeraths stun. Kennen and morg is okay too but they're iffy because of Janna. I prefer malz in this specific team for his damage as lategame their teamcomp is lacking in damage.

Thats where we disagree. In my opinion the majority of malz' power is derived from his ult. If you go into a game knowing you are not going to be able to hit it at full(ish) duration you are better off with a different pick. If you want aoe damage, pick anivia or kennen. You want cc? Grab sion or annie. You want a combination? Pick anivia, kennen, annie, cass, anyone else really. Anything malz can do others do better atm.
