This, more than anything else, will set it apart, at least where MLG is concerned. And for once, popularity is a good thing =D (At least in my eyes). No, thats not true, maybe if you dont count China (dota is really really big in china) they are kinda equal, but if you count china is not close.

The most successful esport in the world. No game, let alone team games, right now (maybe except for SC2 with time) comes close to having the potential to mirror its success as an esport.

Eventually people will learn I suppose, or at least find a new target. No one seems to remember that for the first 6 months people treated SC2 the same way...

You'd imagine that the same would apply to SC2, but for some reason I can watch it all day. (err, maybe for like 4 hours).

As a player, I can relate to the notion of "we got counter-comp'd, therefore deserve a second chance, etc" but as a spectator I never really had the energy to watch more then 2-3 MOBA games straight because it's so boring and repetitive. You'd imagine that the same would apply to SC2, but for some reason I can watch it all day. (err, maybe for like 4 hours). It's the normal MLG extended series, so it's just like 2 bo3's with maybe a possibility of 1 extra game (compared to 2 bo3) if it goes 2-0 in pool play and end up 4-3.

Again, it's great that MLG is adding another game, but I hope it doesn't take too much away from SC2. I hope the people who watch it and play it stay loyal and help more people to get into it so we can continue to see the game grow in the esports scene.
