I love playing LoL, and it's mildly entertaining to watch (depending on the commentary.. 4Deman + Joe Miller = awesome), but why do LoL streamers and tournaments use own3d.tv? Justin.tv is so much better. I hope the MLG stream will be as good as the SC2 streams in the last two MLGs.

Nope, people keep spreading misinformation like this but it was only a stream link, and not the actual stream. LoL is insanely popular compared to SC2, even the Dreamhack NA qualifers, which wasn't advertised at all, got aound 80k viewers if I remembered correctly.

I don't care for LoL one bit, but I don't see this as a bad thing(don't really care).

You had to actually click on the link and watch the stream to get counted as a viewer. Merely being in the lobby didn't affect anything.

I feel like not wanting to watch MLG just because they're adding LoL, its a duplicate of dota and shouldn't stay at MLG for too long, I hope atleast. Dota2 fighting!!
It's far from a "DotA clone", it's of the same genre, but it doesn't feature ridiculous things like animation cancelling and denying that make the game just that much less fun for anyone that doesn't play super competitively. HoN/DotA2 are DotA clones. League of Legends is not.
And competitiveness doesn't matter for MLG. They care about viewers, and viewers only.
If casting League of Legends brings them in more viewers than DotA/DotA2 will (which I strongly think it will), they will broadcast that over DotA/2, even if it is somehow less competitive.

Dreamhack NA qualifiers had over 100.000k viewers and Riot didn't advertize it anywhere, so it's totally unthinkable that the actual dreamhack had double the viewers?
If Riot had counted everyone in the client they'd have gotten closer to a million viewers, you don't seem to realize how popular the game is.

I understand that you need 5 people on LoL team but SC2 is SOOOO Big, i feel like MLG is just cheapskating by trying to skimp on money for the rest of the season to save money
Since the first MLG SC2 has increased revenues for MLG by itself so much I'm sure its crazy - I know that if MLG DID change the pool it would just create that much more attention to it and make them even more money

LoL is fine and dandy, not my cup of tea, but I know a lot of people that will likely watch MLG because of LoL being on, so I hope that this brings more people to broader E-Sports as well as MOAR STARCRAFTS :D <3

How do so many people not get it, 5 person team, divide the prize pool by 5 and relax. Riot probably also helped by chipping in some cash for the pool. SC2 has a good prize pool for it being a 3 day event.
Anyway, the more games the merrier here. I just installed LoL but can't decide on a character. I'll be watching it at MLG.

Too bad holiday is almost over here in Holland. Would have loved to go to the USA for holiday and visit the MLG Watching the games with day[9] and Tastetosis there :D
