uhhhh, how do people play on 30 fps? I'm always 60 fps, and if I get anything lower than that I feel like I'm lagging and just can't play properly. :S

iirc, it also has to do with initial perception - look at Swain, Maokai and Lux. All 3 are stronger than release, but you see less of them than nerfed-but-viable champions like Miss Fortune, LeBlanc or Renekton.

Then there's poor Kog'maw...

I like playing on 60 fps, but when I'm watching a stream I could care less--30 is enough for a stream.

Yep but the streamer needs to play on the 30 fps, which is where my question is directed at lol. I tried streaming before but if I wanted even 30 fps my quality was crappy and I simply can't play on 30 fps....let alone less. :S

So for my set of 44 runes, I get a 64% chance instead of the 47% without recombining. That buffs my expected value by 36%, so it's 444 IP for 375 invested. That is 18% profit.

So if my math and all assumptions are right, and if you strictly recombine you can get away with a solid profit. If you don't want all of those 44 runes, the profit will probably be lower though.

This guy assumes that all runes you don't have 9 (or 3 for quints) of are "useful". Well they sure aren't.
He says that "based on personal experience on combinations" it seems that the chances for each rune are equal. He can't possibly have done enough combinings to draw statistically relevant data from that - he needs to test for equal likelyhood of 93 results... I don't wanna do the math for that right now, but I'm pretty sure you need a pretty damn large sample size for that.

Now for the actually interesting part of that link:
Recombining 205 IP runes indeed is improving your IP savings. I was able to push the expected average value of combined runes from 444 IP to 446 IP by removing the 6 or so 205 IP runes I listed as good runes.

Oh yeah right, the difference is barely noticeable.

But hey if you consider all the runes except for the 205 IP ones useful, then you get an expected average value of 746 IP, almost twice as much as the actual cost.
So yeah, if you are trying to get a full set of every type of rune, you can save almost 50% if you combine.


Seriously, don't use the rune combiner unless you do it just for fun.

It just varies between heroes.
Vayne: Major pubstomper, not totally imba but quite strong with an advantage.

Er not sure? Well, on 30 fps I always have a delay between my clicks and what I want to do. Same things happen when my ping skyrockets for some reason and goes to like, 200+. So i you have ping lag it's the same to me as lower fps. ;/

Well I can play at like 80 fps with the highest quality but when I use vertical sync it's about 30 fps and that actually is better for the eyes. i don't get how 30 fps can appear laggy when your eyes definitely don't even process 30 pictures in a second, let alone 100.

O YA LOL that happens. I've played LoL on my friend's computer and everything always looks so beautiful and smooth. One of my friends got a new computer went from being a laggy lagger like me to being a proballer 60 fps-er and he informed me that the game has actually become "fun", and that he will not spend as much time trolling with me anymore =/

It is possible to play at 60 fps while streaming at 30. Streaming at 30 fps vs 60 will cut down on the bandwidth needed by ~half.

My good computer is broke, so Ive been playing at about 30 fps instead of 60, it's quite the difference. I used to play at 20 fps(with an occasional really really bad "lag spike" where it would go to 5-10) all the way to lvl 30 and for almost all of my ranked games, and i was just use to the framerate I suppose I was usually the most farmed in the game, so.. it's not impossible to play if your used to it. I don't play nearly as much as I used to though .

Honestly, I don't really see a difference between 30 and 60 fps when playing.once you get down to 20,25 fps then it is noticeble.
Survival is winning, everything else is bullshit.
