Heroes Weekly Roundup

Sometimes it’s hard to keep up with the news of Heroes of the Storm. As a new, blooming game, there’s a lot of stuff going on. Don’t worry, we got you covered.
Strategy:
- Backdooring with a Leoric is an annoying strategy. Not sure how successful, but certainly annoying to play against. Interestingly enough, the development team might be looking to nerf backdooring in general instead of nerfing specific characters. I can't say I'm opposed to the idea.
- I’ve heard TeamLiquid released a pretty neat article about playing against Stealth. With another Nova free week coming up, you may find it useful.
Tournaments:
- This week in esports was a special one. After one of the closest series of games we've ever had, Cloud9 Maelstrom became the winner of the Town Hall Heroes Invitational. This result is particularly surprising as we saw Tempo Storm’s first finals loss in over 3 months.
- Tempo Storm did win Kings of the Storm VII though, but their loss against compLexity makes you wonder. Is the rest of the NA scene catching up? Or is Tempo Storm getting over confident? Whatever the case, it looks like the NA scene has just got much more interesting.
- At the other side of the Atlantic we finally had the July Europe Open. After a great performance, Na'Vi managed to win it all, but just by judging their loss on the round of 8, while having eliminated Team Liquid on the qualifiers, you can clearly see the European teams are much closer in skill than teams from other regions.
- This week OGN’s Heroes of the storm League was announced. It’s amazing to have such a big organization supporting the game. With some of the best casters in the eSports world, hopefully Korea will start to gain more coverage on the western scene.
- Speaking of which, there has been a lot of discussion lately about NA vs EU and which of the two regions is better. For someone who keeps track of the korean scene, it is interesting people downplay them so much. The gap might be closer than what you think. In fact, who knows, maybe there's no gap at all. We'll find out in the upcoming weeks.
- Latin America Thailand and the ANZ region also had their own qualifiers. While they don't get as much of a spotlight they are fundamental for the global development of the game.
Community:
- User Todie released a very cool blog about the importance of having a positive mindset to succeed in Heroes of the Storm. Sometimes it is easy to just get carried away and start to blame and shame other people, but working together and having a positive mindset will help you overcome the difficulties of the match. It’s not very long and it is definitely worth a read.
- The one and only Miwa has started a new series called Miwa Mumbles. On its very first episode he talks about the profesional team, Complexity Gaming. You should check it out, it's pretty amazing.
The Funnies
- TL User Vecimama created a new Heroes of the Storm WTF Moments with an arcade theme. Probably one of the funnier ones, it will make you laugh out loud.
- Carbot is now doing HotS! He released Episode 3 of HeroStorm based on the wonky bugs with Illidan's heroic ability, The Hunt. Simply put: YOU ARE NOT PREPARED.
With the upcoming August qualifiers, Gamescom, and the Monk looming in the horizon, the upcoming weeks are lining up to be just as amazing. Here to a fun week folks, see you on the forums.
