With the arrival of FakeSteve on our shores just a few months back, as well as the increase in Singapore members' participation on TL, we are planning to organize a TeamLiquid; Singapore outing somewhere between June and July. Any suggestions on exactly when and where to go and what to do/play?
Also, post here which days you will be free, and your budget (screw budget for once though ).
Me: Free on all days except Friday nights (I may be able to make an exception) during the June holidays + first few days of July.
Thinking of LAN party at E2Max. Kinda expensive there though. Anyone knows any other quality LAN shops?
Hurray for dictatorship!
When: 4th July, 3pm Where: Paradiz Centre Dhoby Ghaut MRT control station, ok? Plan: LAN whatever games are available and then dinner How to confirm: PM me to confirm attendance and exchange handphone numbers

Closer to red line
I'll be wearing a blue shirt, my contact is 9653 4550
and i know the boss of Cyberdome, if you want to reserve comps i can help us do so .. weekends are much more difficult to reserve definitely.
June/July i should be more free. Theres also cheaper packages if you play from Mon-Thurs in bulk hours. Cheapest is $1/hr for 21 hours.. lol. $12 for 8 hours is the minimum i think. Normal rates are at $2/hr.
Lol.. sadly.. My friend may want, but he and me currently are serving NS.. We dont even know if we can go for that though.. We may even have duties at weekends, and for my frd, he may even have field camps.. lol..
if there's one thing i can tell you about organising outings, it's that you pick a date that's likely to be convenient for everyone, and then that's that. Trying to organise a date around the schedules of 10+ people? really hard, and likely pointless, since inevitably someone won't be able to make it. At most, find out when the NSmen can get block leave. The rest of us should have flexible enough schedules... I can't think of whats more important that lanning sc with TL ppl anyway
Hi guys. I'm only back on 28th June . Also, it'll be nice if we can lan some sc. Just have to dig hard to find a lancentre that still has it. A couple of years back there was one in far east shopping centre called cyberia, but they might've reformatted or something already.
NS people will most likely be able to make saturday, although there's a chance they might get outfield or guard duty stuff.

gusbear, you're alt)pony, uestmkksmdfkasdf@iccup?
im altclan @ iccup. no idea who eustmkk is. I got army call up on 22nd June think ill be away for a week.
btw i did make a singapore starcraft forum like a year ago at www.altclan.com but no one was using it so its gone now lol. If only kona was around that time he coulda populated the forum all by himself.
oh shit, NIRVANA, what's up. dunno if you remember like 5 years ago on West/Lordaeron I used to play as er.PanoRaMa and was buddies with the Ez dudes (nigel "elemental", kaldorei, spiritual, etc.).

how's duckie?
I can answer that for you, they both don't play games no more and are living large playing poker.
but anyway, i'm only really open from 27th June onwards. for starcraft lan shops, its either Kallang or Paradize, but i prefer Paradize since its in town =] but most of these shops are a little dingy i think.

Judging from people's response, I'm guessing it'll be around that period

lol unfortunately the tickets for that one were so ridiculously cheap that they sold out so quickly. at least this one is more reasonably priced at like 50-100+.

Ohh... The irony.. Too cheap but is not reasonably priced.. lol! Anyway, i prefer that concert cos the repertoires are nicer.. I can get my hands on the june concert, but as NSF, i'll need to save up my money Y-Y..
from what i've heard of youtube, the video games live renditions are superior to those of play! symphony. and they play from a wider selection of games, including sonic and castlevania that play! doesn't include.

anyway konadora i'll probably be going =p.... but im probably this D- terran who will be ogling at the other player's fpviews if yr gonna play starcraft =pppp
btw im on garena's msian channel, and since the m1 forums got back up im browsing around in there ^^
Limbeh ga lu gong ah, over here, if i mention SC everybody's eyes look at me like want to pop out oleidi i know they thinking "Walaoeh this kanasai living under the well his whole life ah still playing this old game with lousy graphics..." Aih , it's really depressing for me.
Hi, count me in. Konadora, just set a date and everyone will try their best to be there. This is a bit different from class outings where you can actually find something that suits everyone. Make it a Saturday so most of the NSFs will be free. Let's try for somewhere in town so it's convenient for everyone. So far, looks like the 1st Saturday of July is good?
magicbullet, dementus and d.ox) still left i think.
and for what to do, is lanning sc even still possible? i mean we could probably play left4dead or cs or whatever, but i'm quite sure everyone really wants to play sc. what else is there to do in singapore?

More importantly, where do we eat after that? Maybe we should bring Fakesteve to eat zhi char since there are lots of us and we can order lots of dishes, but not at Newton because his skin colour will get us all overcharged.
All day starcraft, see if we can armtwist a lanshop into giving us half the shop and a discount. I don't mind zhichar but i can't think of any good places near decent lanshops. Btw i think we should go paradiz for lan
We're looking at 4th July. It doesn't need to be a whole day affair. People can come and go. Like I'll probably only turn up in the evening towards the end of the pah LAN session for dinner because I'll be working before that.
I've heard good things about the Paradiz LAN.
How old is everyone? Are there things we can't do or places we can't go?
Big O over at Paradiz/Parklane mall ( however you refer to it) has starcraft on its coms.. but that shop is uber popular and with the amount of people going i think you guys might need to book the shop in advance if you guys want to have a place that can play a decent variety of games including starcraft..
on second though, since there are some here who can't make it in july, if i suggest another lan outing just to play lan for an afternoon or something in june, who's up?

Nowhere near sex shops/geylang. Turning 18 in June.
Maybe we can fix a date so that LAN outing is the same day as OSL/MSL finals or something? Then all can go someone's house and watch.

I won't allow that. I want see some SKT1 vs CJ (and SKT1 winning of course).

So how?? 4th July is it? (Is that around PL/OSL/MSL finals/semi finals?)
Let's bump this thread up on Saturday when the NSFs are out of camp. If we're meeting at Paradiz, the nearby Sing Ho Chicken Rice is quite famous. Don't know whether it's open at night, though. Little India is also a walk away.
On May 20 2009 16:35 konadora wrote: Where is Paradiz? How much? Need to book in advance? :X
I think u can walk there from dhouby gourd MRT station.. The whole building have lots of LAN shops, and when it comes to night or weekends, bound to have loads of ppl there too.. I think u will need to book (dont even know if they allow to book)..
hmmm not sure, i go check this weekend. Could someone do a more definite headcount for people going? I am, yep. And the timing is important, no one's gonna hold your slots for long. after lunch, start at 1~2 to 6~7 grab dinner and finish?
I think need to book depending on the size we're talking. You go in there on a busy weekend or now even school holidays for many students I don't think we can accomodate everyone... Unless you're talking about those with tonnes of PCs with very little people kind of shops, which then I'd doubt if they have SC or not..

Date: 4th July Time: 2 - 6, pah lan, dinner after that Venue: Paradis centre (what was the name of the lan shop?)
I'll bump this again mid June, closer to the date, so that everyone can confirm attendance again. Then one of us can go book the place. If too many people turn up, we can always take turns =) See you guys in July.
Im curious where do you guys play starcraft? B.net? Even though i have been watching starcraft for quite long i been stuck to playing it on LAN with my friends

Get 12 maids, make them sit at the comps from 11 to 2 like queueing for NDP tickets... maybe we should just grab dinner =(
i play sc on garena. umm sc is really hard to find in Singapore, so if you really want to play sc then =/ if its just dota/l4d then i can book in a bigger place. yep.
i'm good for it! i don't think e2max has sc though. i'm a bit confused as to what is happening htough. my cousin will probably be in singapore as well.
I thought it was a Sunday (but I checked my earlier post, it seems like I was the one who said 4th July lol) so I was going to watch transformers on Saturday >___>
Guess I'll change the movie outing, unless everyone here's okay with 5th July
rofl goddamn i'll be in tianjin or beijing or sichuan or yunnan at the time
gonna arrive at shanghai in about 14-15 hours, but only staying there for one day (actually more like 5 hours, arriving at 5 pm with jet lag and leaving the next morning)

I'm giving tuition on that day so I'll only be there at 6 plus. I don't really play a lot, though, so go ahead and LAN first and I'll join you guys for dinner.
For those wondering where paradiz centre is, it's along Selegie Road near Rendezvous Hotel and The Cathay. Nearest MRT is Dhoby Ghaut, but it's quite a walk. streetdirectory.com has free maps.
Does anyone have the exact address of the LAN? Or what floor it's on?

Have they decided the LAN shop? There are lots of LAN shops over there, every floor..
I do remember there's a LAN shop there which has starcraft, but they dont have the maps there.. Probably the one we are familiar with is only Lost Temple lol (i think it's at a corner, evolution2 i guess)
Oh, Paradiz center isn't a lan shop? It's a mall...? lol
Okay, how about we meet at a lan shop, anyone familiar with it? If you are, and think it can accommodate everyone, then tell us the level and unit number, we meet there.
like half of the people here don't know paradiz. afaik it's singapore's "lan central", if you will. it's kinda out of the way to people who aren't so familiar with the area so we might as well meet up at dhoby. i'll bring a thumdrive with the icc mappack just in case. also: someone bring a camera please
people who might go (depending on army stuff/work/others): kaleidoscope gusbear nirvana nevertheendlesswiz SmD_aLt justiceknight JFKWT dangots0ul dante08 d.ox) dementus eugene17+friend
lol i have said before, you need to be there before 12pm to get the best comps you want, only 12 comps have SC, and i'm not sure if lan shops let you stick USB memory cards in. so... you might be looking at half SC / half dota or L4D.
there are so many lan shops in Paradiz, i have heard BigO is good but its ex. the one i went to and checked for SC availability is on the basement with the MacDonalds. costing about $2.
I might be late, since i am going to see a GuitarHero Tourney before that. =D
i'll go scout out tomorrow for coms. I have the day off anyone wanna join me? i'll probably be going in the afternoon
also i think some of us should go early on sat, maybe noon. i'm up to doing it, if anyone else is bored. We might be able to jostle for coms and perhaps reserve some coms if we have enough there already.

I was really shocked by how many people turned up. I think we had about 17 guys turn up, and I know there are a few more who couldn't make it. There were so many I didn't even get to talk to half of them. That's pretty amazing for a small country and a really old game. It was awesome. We should do it again some time.
Yeah, me too haha. I remember seeing photos of outings in other countries where they had similar or even less people turning up, so it was a surprise for such a small country.
I guess that in a small country like Singapore logistics is so much less of an issue, since everyone stays relatively close by, whereas in other larger countries its much harder cause people might be from different ends of the country

How bout a Singapore starcraft TL guild? Or probably an Iccup chn? My Hamachi cant work..
iccup nick is JFKWT, havent won a single game there (played 2 games with my friend but he created melee mode). its mostly for obbing friends who are overseas.
i usually play on garena with the malaysians. pretty funny and friendly bunch of guys (some like to do online BM and stuff, includes ash the fnatic. clan manager/spokesperson =p) but not much now... need to start doing some BO drills before playing real games (keep getting supplyblocked and whatnot)
Nobody here uses hamachi? It's like garena.. BUT BETTER! It's small and easy to install. Just make sure your firewall doesn't block it. it's really really lag free. I was trying playing wiht my cousin who lives in california but when we used bnet we couldn't even get into the same game. using hamachi it was seriously almost lagless. which is why I tell everybody to use hamachi.

I have hamachi, but it does not work.. FYI, i dont have any firewall or antivirus programme.. I run on vista with windows defender and firewall off, and i even portforward both starcraft and hamachi.. I can go up online in hamachi, but always negative results when pinging others..
