Super Duper New Years Edition

Dear Readers,

With the coming of the new year, I thought I'd make PX look a little bit different, as well as adding a table of contents. Now you can get to your favorite section with a simple search :D. Hopefully you like it! Also, congrats neggy (if I'm allowed to call you that ^^)!

Cheddar and chive mashed potatoes

Ingredients
5-6 potato’s
cheddar cheese
salt
pepper
35% cream
chives
butter
minced or roasted garlic

procedure
1. peel potato’s, cut into smaller pieces, add to boiling water
2. in a metal bowl, add butter, cream and garlic and put bowl over boiling water
3. remove bowl from top of water when butter is melted
4. when potato’s are fork friendly, drain water, then pour contents of bowl into the potato’s
5. add salt, pepper, grate cheese into the mixture, then using a potato masher mash the potato’s
6. add chives, then stir them in
7. enjoy food

I'm not Korean. I have no Korean blood. I cannot speak Korean fluently. In fact I've only been in Korea for 3 months. So don't go apeshit if I use a ㅔ instead of ㅐ or I offend anyone's acute nationalistic feelings. Rest assured though that I will not teach anything without being 100% that it's right.

Note on Romanization:
(Romanization is where the Korean is phonetically translated into English)
I hate Romanization and I strongly suggest any serious learners of Korean not to use it. It's just for the newbies. The problem with it is that different English speakers will pronounce the syllables differently and on an international forum like this, it's impossible for me to be accurate with it. There are different variations of Romanization and below I do my own version.

Back to the mundane but highly useful stuff..

I found that this phrase can be used in pretty much the same situations as in English. E.g., how's the food? (its okay..), do you want a receipt with that? (no.. its okay), are you feeling okay? (Yeah, I'm okay) etc.

Normal
괜찮아요 (gwen-chan-ah-yo)

Informal
괜찮아 (gwen-chan-ah) Just drop the '요/yo' as usual

The nice thing about Korean, is that you can make the statement a question simply by using upwards intonation at the end. Combine this with the absence of pronouns, and the same phrase can be used for, "Are you okay?.

This is something you will hear more and more as the night wears on and people get more drunk. A small '괜찮아(요)?' to the poor girl losing all the drinking gmaes can be used to show your extremely considerate and gentlemanly nature.ㅋ

괜찮아 = present tense form of verb 'to be okay' 괜찮다
요 = polite ending

Oh haha, I used the length of [ hr] to guess the max width and also tried a 550px one, but I thought that the slight blurriness of the resized images looked better than the normal sized ones ^^ so I stuck with the resized images (although another reason was not wanting to guess and check the max width).

Edit: Also, does anyone see yellow boxes around all the images? If so, why is that? If not, why do I see them?

XD, I love the random image of the week. Imo it's actually even better as a standalone rather than with the entire report.

New Look Suggestion: Remove the little yellow box around the titles. No biggie, I think it would just look a little cleaner that way.

^^Like the yellow box around these.

Edit: Looking at the ban of the week, would this be a record for the number of posts banned in one week? Hmm...but if haji has been banned along with a few other ppl it could surpass that.

Btw kau, would it be too much work to write the blog titles next to (or use the url bbcode) for the blogs? I feel like seeing the blog titles would compel me to click the links more.

But dont worry if it's just too much of a hassle, I completely understand.
