I think Blizzard officially said that; Star Craft, Starcraft, StarCraft, Broodwar, Brood War, & BroodWar would all be correct.

The thing that really bugs me is when people say 'broodwars'. I dunno why, it just sounds so fucking stupid to me. It'd be like saying "hey guys, lets go play some starcrafts!" or something dumb like that.
It's only 1 war right?

I wonder if when all the expansions for sc2 come out if people will be calling the game after the last expansion or still just sc2. SC2 WoL, HotS, LotV

Terrans: Wings of Liberty," "Zerg: Heart of the Swarm" and "Protoss: Legacy of the Void"

PS- Are the acronyms some kind of inside joke? It almost looks like "Wol hearts love" or something

I doubt they'll be called anything different once each expansion comes out. From what I've heard, all the multiplayer elements will be in the first one. Broodwar is Broodwar cuz of the new units.

no actually, they plan to release new units. There is evidence of these units from hackers looking into the files of the beta, as well as a long interview recently where a Blizzard guy (browder maybe?) says they plan to have a few more units later on.

Also, there were lurkers in every alpha build at the blizzcons, but now in the beta they are gone. The current weakness of protoss on dealing with mutas. etc.
