Although being an avid reader of Teamliquid, this is indeed my first post and topic in the forum, and yes, it is a nerve-racking experience. :o I come here in a time of need that I am sure you guys can easily help out with. :D Here's the situation:
There's a certain computer apps class at my school, and the project is simple: - Get as many hits to your website - Get as many different countries' visiting to your website
It comes in two seperate grades: The person with the most hits gets a 100, and the next person gets a 99, and so on. The person with the most countries gets a 100, and the next person gets a 99, and so on.
So, if I come in 3rd place in hits and 4th place in countries, I'll get a 97 and a 96.
The program that we're using to record the data is web-stat.com. A "hit" is basically a visit that had at least a 30min interval before my previous visit.
The aim of this project is to use search engine optimization and advertisement to get as many hits, but I'm sure you guys have much more experience in this matter than I do. Infact, I've been writing stories about my girlfriend on my website to attract visitors, and it's been going okay...
Now, I could simply ask you kind people to "win the internet" (an easy task for TeamLiquid) and visit my website, (tempting ) but a few tips on how to optimize traffic and such would be very appreciated!

i guess you could spam it on 4chan and other high traffic sites and hope a lot of people click on it....but something bad might happen to your site if it does; i don't know what, but shit is bound to happen when its associated with 4chan.
I'll put an iframe linking to your site on the bottom of my site, http://vilegaming.com , for the next few hours.. that should get you a couple hundred to a thousand unique hits, and 5x that number for hits.

to OP, I think you should re do your page the day before the results (because you will obviously win) and just write "I won the internet bitches!" in giant font on the page. This shows confidence. PS- post the page in as many 4chan threads and ebaumsworld threads as you can.

You're lucky is this a college class or what? I'm sure TL will help you a ton in terms of number of different countries and also will help a bit in total # of visits although i'm not sure what scale to expect to TL's impact could be huge or small I guess. I bet it'll help you a lot though.

Are you graded on unique hits or general hits? If it is the second, then I can put like 100 iframes in the footer instead of the 1.
i just told everyone i knew to tell everyone they know... and as long as there's a 30min interval before the last visit, the same IP address can count twice so I guess people just came back :/

haha dont worry the whole story thing is to attract hits from people i know, since they will be curious about me more than random internet people and as for competition...i think ive already won the class with some extra help eh idc about random internet people attacking me; the site will be deleted in about a week or so anyway :/
the tower defense game really hooked me almost mastered medium mode but however I shift the towerlayout always at least two units come through (made a couple 5250+ finishes on medium). And hard really is hard. Anyone has an idea how to win this or come far even? :D I either get overrun by a dark wave or a flight wave. I also miss a concept on how to implement the powerup-tower on hardmode well.
a little update: i turned my hits and countries in today, and although my teacher didnt say it i could tell he was a bit shocked im not sure what place i came in, since he didnt reveal the other people's scores yet, but im pretty first im 1/2 thanks a bunch guys again

it's just temping to use 10 30 differnet proxys in a brower to check your website every 31 mins then isn't it lol
