First of all, let's keep in mind this is a party for teenagers. We are all Asians, because of the area in which I live.
So my friend is hosting a party next Saturday and we're kinda halted cause we have no idea what to do. What we do have is an idea of what not to do.

Twister is a wonderful game, though perhaps it works better with alcohol.
I dunno, if you're a teen and you just decided to randomly throw a party, you should probably have an idea already of what to do and how it's gonna be like.

Since there won't be alchohol, you're really all just hanging out. If your all friends anyway it'll be fun regardless of what you do.

Food + Music + Time sink.
Instead of having alcohol as your time waster you need to think of something else you guys can do that's fun, relaxing, and anyone can do. Cards are okay, toss a ball around, shoot off fireworks, build a fire, play man hunt (or hide and seek), watch a movie. Make sure you don't stick to the plan too intently either, i'm sure your guests will find fun things to do to entertain themselves too.

So what if you are underage.. that doesn't stop me o_O I have been drinking the past 6 weekends, we pretended we had reasons for all of them (halloween, friends birthday, my birthday... actually i guess we only had reasons for half of them) for a party u NEED: - loud music(TECHNO!!!) - alcohol(seriously, this is basically a must) - some kind of game(video game, truth or dare, drinking game, pool[my faouvrite ], etc) - hot tub - women(preferably single...) - a place to pass out/sleep - a safe/isolated place/house to party(i.e. no cops will come or shit) - not needed imo cause i dont smoke but some people say weed - some kind of food(pizza to make, pop for mixing, etc) - designated driver if people are going home cant think of many more off the top of my head but yeahhhhhhhhhh sounds like your party is going to be lame

i went to a few parties in highschool that didn't have drugs/alcohol. These parties were typically reflected upon as a success by most of the people who attended. We listened to popular music (linkin park, blink 182, sum41, offspring, etc.) and discussed all the latest gossip ("omg, did you HEAR that Randy called Megan FAT?").
So i guess that's my advice to you: play some generic music that everyone will pretty much agree with, talk about anything dramatic (and if there isn't something truly dramatic, use your imagination and go with that).
I started to bring alcohol and drugs to parties to have fun. I ended up not being invited to as many, along with the people who decided to do with them me... Until a year later when everyone realized that booze = good.

it's about creativity with activities. if you need the alcohol to "make anything fun", then the activity probably wasnt fun to begin with, then that's where the creativity kicks in. it all comes to down to the OP and his gang of friends and their interests.

I think an ideal party w/o alcohol would be... a barbeque. Do it in the backyard or something, turn on some music, and since you guys are all friends, it'll be fun. After barbeque, watch a movie, a horror movie perhaps.. ppl can relax.. maybe since you are not of drinking age yet, maybe relaxing isnt what you're looking for heh :D
Or, you guys can play whatever game so loser has to drink vinegar or eat lemon. if stripping is not an option ofc.
most important thing is, dont hype it up so much to your friends about how great the party will be cuz well, high expectations = almost always fail. just briefly plan it with your friend and just go with the flow of the group :D

Can someone explain to me the purpose of extremely loud music at parties? Im 22 years old now, and I've yet to discover this. When we're having parties, we just drink and possibly smoke if we got some weed, put on some chill background music and talk to eachother.
What exactly is so great about sitting next to someone and having to yell into their ears so they can hear you, trying your best to ignore the music so you can hear the respons, instead of just talking while having some music on low volume in the background
Without two of the key components there is only one left and I assume that most of these girls are fairly conservative since you arent drinking. Strip poker is the only option to save this party imo.
I used to have fun at parties without alcohol when I was 11-12 or so. Dont really remember what we did that was fun but I guess we mostly talked, danced, cuddled under blankets and made out. Had fun without drinking as an adult too, usually involved cooking and watching movies ect with a bunch of friends. I dont count that as a party tho.

thats not even remotely close to true what is true that if someone starts drinking after hes 18, he is likely to end up shitfaced piss drunk after he is 18, while someone whom starts drinking when hes 13 is likely to know how much he handles by the time he is 18. conduct a poll amongst 200 random alcoholic bums I can assure you that they will on average have started drinking much earlier than the norm, and that virtually 0% started drinking after they were 18.

Are parents going to be there? If so, fuck everything, just play cards until you can get all of them home and don't forget to pick up some phone numbers so your evening isn't a total waste.
If parents aren't there, poker is a great thing to do, or set up some music in your living room and let people dance if they want (a projector with music videos works great in this case).
As for food, pizza works but is kind of lame--you can do a really simple teriyaki beef (with some New York Strip, cut it into thin slices and broil it in the oven with white wine, brown mustard, and some teriyaki sauce, garlic and onion if you want to be fancy). Then buy some Ritz crackers and good cheese and buy a lot of cocktail shrimp or something.
You want to be classy, so get the lighting in your house to be something nice (e.g. mood lighting, strobes, w/e).
Buy sparkling apple juice. Use it to substitute.
Get your friend to take everyone out to a basketball game afterwards, so you have the choice of going alone or spending some alone time with a girl of your choice (you are the host after all, and doing all that classy shit is a real easy way to finish the job).

Just play Spin the Bottle and force them to go together into a room. Seriously though, you can have a lot of fun just chillin'. Play some games, have some conversations (GASP), dig through the skeletons in your closets, cry on each other's shoulders over your overbearing azn parents etc. Although, if you just want to get into some pants, I suppose you will fail.
Well if you want to throw a party know the people who are coming, personally I wouldn't have people who are interested in drinking or drugs or anything of that nature. If you know these people somewhat just do whats safe and you know it's a party, supposed to be fun, just socialize find some activities like you stated, twister if they want or something else if that doesn't fly.
And play some mass-participation games that doesn't need tv. One such game is where a number of people squat/sit/kneel in a row in front of one person. That one person will call out a number (has to be one less than the total amount of people in the row), and (starting from the first person in the row) that number of people will have to stand up, saying the number. Then the one person needs to say another number, this time starting from the person after the last person who had to stand up. If it goes to the end of the row, then it just cycles back. Rinse and repeat. If anyone gets caught not standing up when needed/standing up out of turn, the master will name a punishment for that person/s (Needs someone who can name out funny punishments and a compliant players in order to be fun).

You could also have a bonfire, if possible. Do some wacky stuff, its always fun doing stuff out of the norm with a bunch of other people (like blowing up turkeys). Competitions can be pretty fun, like boxing.
You could also play poker, and have everyone bring money (but poker games take a long time to finish so........)
Stop worrying about what kids on the internet are saying about your party and just have fun. No need to have anything to prove. That is lesson 1. Just have fun.

What exactly is so great about sitting next to someone and having to yell into their ears so they can hear you, trying your best to ignore the music so you can hear the respons, instead of just talking while having some music on low volume in the background
Usually if Im in a place with loud music and a lot of liquor im trying to get some face time with some titties not my buddies.

Their version of a party is to get pissfaced drunk have weed and hook up with a girl. Imo that doesn't sound like a party that sounds like a bar but with people you know.
Apparently hanging out with people can't be fun thus ain't a party. Have fun dude is all that is needed.
Quality of tl has gone far down with the popularity. Anyways i know that parties can go all awkward if there is nothing to do(even if people are drunk), therefore: -cooking -different games, like twister, truth or dare, cards, darts, pictionary.. -talking/singing/dancing, but atleast in finland this needs alcohol.. -taking pictures, this one needs the party to be going on allready though -got animals? they're always great on those quiet moments -sauna -most of the stuff that comes to mind has allready been said
I dont think i have ever been in a sober party, usually we just meet up as a group to do some sports, like swimming/bowling/paintballing :/
When we have girls over we get alcohol that they like, music that they like, make room for them because they love dancing, and 99.9% someone got laid for sure... avoid drama.
When its just boys we play FIFA, watch sport games on tv, just sit and drink and talk... I guess basically anything that has to do with drinking its what we usually do O_O... ummm..so I wouldnt know really I guess... you should get a hooka and smoke hooka or something lol I dunno
whenever i go to a party i just start talking and don't stop ever under any circumstance no matter what until i'm the center of attention and i keep it that way until i have to leave the party
