if you went to parties with lots of people from guyane/martinique then yes grinding is what its all about.other than that never seen it.

A good piece of general advice to remember if you're struggling to free-form dance is to not start with your feet. Move with your shoulders, and let your hip follow.
Learn to bob rhythmically without having to lean on someone's ass, and dance face-to-face -- I guarantee it's more impressive. If you're looking to actually make an impression and are not there to just feel up on strangers.
You can grind, but someone who can salsa or implement good ballroom moves is going to make your girl jealous. Maybe not in high school, but later on. Unless she's just a club tramp with half a brain.
Lol, this bump... I saw a couple at a prom dance, I swear to god the girl was completely bent over and the guy was just grinding up against her ass. They might as well have been screwing each other on the dance floor (they might have, I had no reason to find out for sure) This was like the only thing that people did at dances when I was at high school.
