For the guy himself, horrible person, haven't seen a war he didn't like, including the Ukrainian one against Russians, which has been the position he's held over the last 5 years that wasn't a net negative for the world. If Russians somehow had anything to do with his death, well, that is a huge deal, them taking out a sitting member of Senate would be something that Trump's never-ending wealth of tolerance and love for Putin might not survive. Because of this, the official story seems very suspicious to me, of course, I'll wait and see if more details come out but so far, this all seems very weird to me.

Also, believing Russian MOD never gets less hilarious. They love posting what Ukraine has done as their own. 15 more ships, btw

I don't think the timing is particularly suspicious. It's an old out of shape man who likely eats garbage, sits most of the day, and travels a lot. This happened just after a very long flight. The stage for something like a blood clot was absolutely set.

Mostly damaged rather than sunk. AFAIK the footage that was released doesn't show any tanker actually going down.

What he's talking about is the drone beach landing Ukraine did a couple of days ago, on to a Russian held position. The exact effect of the attack is unknown, but also not super important as this was a prototype in a field trial. Imagine instead of one of these, you have a few hundred attacking over a wide area. https://euromaidanpress.com/2026/07/14/ukraine-put-armed-robot-on-russian-held-ground-naval-drone-was-landing-craft/ https://edition.cnn.com/2026/07/13/world/video/ukraine-amphibious-attack-drone-ldn-digvid

They have already deployed a ground based drone from a sea drone in Crimea as a test.

Which is a crazy thing to say. The thing is, theoretically Russia should be the most effective country to deal with mass drones. they've had radar controlled mobile AA guns as a mass produced vehicle for a long time now. 20mm fragmenting rounds would shred any drone. just mass produceing them and slapping a few 20mm pieces on ships should make them immune to anything but a mass drone rush. Most of the kills we've seen in the past few days in the black and azov sea have been singular small fuel ships with no defenes or escorts.
