Lead poisoning?

I know it's the general sentiment and it's been said many times, but the fact that a fate of a Country of 40+ million people depends on which side of the bed a malignant narcissist wakes up is just fucking depressing.

I think there were some additional phone calls to Putin and Zelensky where Putins was like "lol you do not have any more weapons" and Zelensky was like "you have the bestest weapons evar, can I try some? And also we'll appoint a pretty new ambassador lady just for you"

Acute lead poisoning.
This one is the first that could actually be a potential suicide tho. Not saying it's likely, based on Putin's history, but it is the first time it actually looks like one. Every other time they've been very obvious about the fact that they're assassinations, to send a message to anyone else who might think of crossing him.

When is ‚you’re to be fired at‘ going to become a common way of being told you‘re being laid off in Russia ?

Yeah, that tracks.
It's just that it's so fucking depressing, I mean, I don't even know, was there ever a historical precedence for this, just a stupid, easily manipulated leader changing his mind and doing random shit from day to day?
It's incredibly sad that because of this fucking moron people actually live or die, have ammunition or don't, have interceptors to defend their cities form terrorist bombings or don't, that some family might die in their beds or a bunch of young people in a bar because this fucking moron swindled a nation of (substantial numbers of) fucking morons into installing him as the most powerful person in the world and now he gets to decide all these things based on flattery and bribes.

Trump Always Chickens Out (TACO)
But really when you look into narcissist's this is just what they do. Create chaos around them that they can control and be the hero. So he cancels shit to get that rush than restarts to get that rush. Same thing with tariffs and likely his whole life.

Trump has strong enough institutions and short enough term that he doesn't bring his country down.
Historical rulers had much more opportunities, if Trump just got them he could belong among the greatest. https://www.reddit.com/r/AskHistory/comments/1bobv7i/who_are_some_of_the_most_incompetent_ancient/kwo8b83/

He was afraid he could kill himself with jump from a window, so he preempted himself with shoting... himself. He was governor of Kursk region and was overseeing the construction of defensive lines, where tens of millions USD were allocated to, and several of those millions left missing, which became apparent after Ukraine incursion into Kursk. His former deputy (and briefly the next Kursk governor) Smirnov was arrested and, reportedly, was already testifying against former boss. There were also reports of Starovoit drinking heavily the last few months. I guess the case of Shoigu's team clearly shown that anyone openly stealing at the expense of the war effort will be dealt with regardless of the connections. And when you are government official used to luxury lifestyle it's kinda hard to cope with the fact that you'll spend the next fifteen-twenty years cutting trees in Siberia, and will be left with (comparatively to before) nothing after that.

But Shoigu is openly stealing.

Shoigu is THE Kremlin political heavyweight, being the only person in the current government who was at the top of the chain even when USSR was around (he was made the head of the State Commitee on Emergency Situations of RSFSR back in 1990, which was later reorganized as Ministry of Emergency Situations of Russian Federation), and he have close personal relations with Putin himself. But even he in May 2024 was removed from any position of actual power or control over financial streams, now being a glorified envoy hugging with Kim. So he can't be stealing anything since he has nothing to steal from.
Other MoD top personnel on the other hand...
1. Timur Ivanov, Deputy Minister of Defence (housing and medical provision of troops, military mortgage, social services) - arrested on 22.04.2024, charge - bribe, sentenced to 13 years of general security prison.
2. Yuri Sadovenko, Head of the Office of Ministry of Defence - fired on 20.05.2024, no new appointments.
3. Dmitry Bulgakov, former Deputy Minister of Defence (2008-2022, supply and logistics) - arrested on 26.07.2024, charge - fraud.
4. Pavel Popov, Deputy Minister of Defence (RnD, communications, weapon testing) - arrested on 29.07.2024, charge - fraud.
5. Ruslan Tsalikov, First Deputy Minister of Defence (construction, financial control, state property management) - fired on 17.07.2024, later he was moved through United Russia party structure to a position of member of Tuva Republic parliament (Khural). Since Tuva is one of the shittiest Russian regions to live in, and he was repeteadly denied a position of a senator (member of Russian upper parliament, 2 of them per region) from Tuva (so he'll be back living and working in Moscow), I guess he is firmly and disgracefully exiled.
6. Tatiana Shevtsova, Deputy Minister of Defence (finances, financial planning, social spending) - fired on 17.07.2024, no new appointments, some reports of her leaving the country.
7. Nikolay Pankov, Deputy Minister of Defence (relations with other government branches) - fired on 17.07.2024, no new appointments. In his place was appointed Anna Tsivileva, daugher of Putin's cousin.
8. Yuri Kuznetsov, Head of MoD HR Department - arrested on 14.05.2024, charge - bribe.
9. Vadim Shamarin, Head of Main Communications Directorate of RuAF, Deputy Head of General Staff - arrested on 22.05.2024, charge - bribe, sentenced to 7 years of maximum security prison.
10. Vladimir Vertelezky, Head of the Department of State Defence Procurement - arrested on 23.05.2024, charge - bribe.
11. Vladimir Shesterov, Deputy Head of the MoD Department of Innovational Developments - arrested on 02.08.2024, charge - fraud.
12. Valeriy Mumindzhanov, Deputy commander of Leningrad Military District on Supply and Logistics - arrested on 02.09.2024, charge - bribe.
That's not including bunch of lower level generals and officials.

That is basically proof that massive corruption is going on by basically everyone. No way that many high ups get caught and no one knew.

It is a good way to signal to lower level people that the gravy train is over for now. Keep it in line and behave until the war is over. If they smack down the first few that pop up after the war as well it could be a permanent change, but seems unlikely in a dictatorship.

That is assuming it the corruption that got them arrested and not something "unloyal" and the corruption charges are just what is used. My guess is the new people are pulling the exact same scheme as before, maybe not quite as aggressively.
I think Ardias and his fellow Russians shouldn't be thinking, great we are fighting corruption. But how the hell did big powerful Putin who knows all have this all happening right under his nose?
Clearly he wanted it too.
