He comes off as someone who gives a shit about the working class, I genuinely think he would have stood a strong chance. He’s got good campaign energy. I’m sad we likely won’t see anything more out of him, he’s a beacon of integrity rarely seen in american politics. Now we’re getting more Qanon people. Sigh... My god, he really does want violence to erupt. Needs more time on AOC, I hope she becomes a Sanders, but Politics is a corrupting force so I’m holding back on it for now. Sanders had such a long tenure of doing what was right, part of his appeal to me was how long he had been doing things I agree with as opposed to someone like Biden who basically had to be bullied into it by popular opinion.

He didn't incite violence. He didn't mean it the way you make it out to be. Media is spinning. Post is fake. He's just trolling. Now that the typical trumpet doesn't need to justify this behaviour anymore, we can go into detail as to how fucked up this message really is.

As someone who didn’t vote for Trump in this election, I would have voted for him over Bernie without hesitation. I vehemently disagree with his policies to solve problems with massive taxes and give things for free. At least with Biden, I see him taking his time approaching far left policy decisions or best case scenario being a lame duck president. Yeah, my family and I probably all would've voted Trump (I would vote jojo) if it was Trump v. Bernie. I suspect there are more people like me and Bisudagger than those that would vote Republican in this election vs switching to Bernie in a hypothetical. The data I've seen doesn't support this assumption, there aren't that many people in the bottom right. + Show Spoiler + ![]()

With how close the north states are, I think Trump would repeat and even flip Nevada. Theoretically moderate Republicans don’t want Trump though, but they show up for him. There’s just a large contingent of voters that are going to stick in their party lane, and I doubt Bernie would suddenly flip all those people into Republicans. For real though the rust belt seems incredibly moderate. Bernie definitely had some people more excited but I think the net lost of people who are scared of the big bad socialist is too great.

Now that the typical trumpet doesn't need to justify this behaviour anymore, we can go into detail as to how fucked up this message really is. Well. It's very clear that given the chance, Trump would steal elections and destroy democracy. Those four years have been a stress test for the american institutions, and it looks like they held actually quite well. Even a wannabe strongman with one of the two parties completely under his spell can be ousted from office without being able to do much about it. Democracy is really precious. In many, many places, Trump would have been president for life.

I suspect there are more people like me and Bisudagger than those that would vote Republican in this election vs switching to Bernie in a hypothetical. If Bernie won the primary, my vote might have gone 3rd party. It would depend greatly on how Bernie reacted to the riots. If he would have called riots "beautiful protests", yes, specifically calling the riots and looting "beautiful protests" as one (now former) IL rep said, then I couldn't vote for him. That one statement likely cost the IL rep her very winnable seat. I cannot support mob justice on either side. Can't vote for Trump and his mob mentality. Can't vote for left wing mobs either. So if Bernie couldn't absolutely reject looting and rioting (while separating and cheering for peaceful protests), then I'd have to go 3rd party. I don't think I'm anywhere near alone.
