Sugar is your raw power, the thing that burns(makes you really appreciate how much energy is in sugar) Baking soda, Sodium Bicarbonate, you are after this: 2NaHCO3 → Na2CO3 + H2O + CO2 which will release CO2 and H2O to slow down the reaction (Kind of conter the effect of Nitrate, weird..., I'd just add less nitrate but I think abit of everything makes the reaction more "regulated" and "stable" Powdered dye... well self-explainitory. If you don't add the baking soda you can make a hobby rocket fuel. | ||

This smoke bomb thing does work, I did it with some cousins a few years ago. You do have to be careful heating though, as if combusts while you are heating it, it's very bad, to say the least. I would make these in lower proportions if you don't know what you're doing yet. | ||
