What right-wing violence has been rewarded? Was anyone like, say, Charlie Kirk, cheering the shooting of the MN legislators? I think recent events show that left-wing violence arguable gets more excuses in our culture.
I'm not surprised by what I'm reading because we already saw this with Luigi, or the "in a video game" rhetoric, and to a lesser a extent "punch a Nazi" from a few years ago. There's a lot of fast and loose logic being done here already. It's really not that hard to condemn all violence like this.

What is being done to immigrants every day by Trump's brownshirts is political violence. What is being done by police officers embolded by Trump's "don't be too gentle with suspects" rhetoric is political violence. When Trump's opponents are investigated by the FBI on trumped up charges that's political violence. What is being done by shooters every day in schools is political violence. When a woman can't access a medically necessary abortion that's political violence. Every thing done to Kilmar Abrego Garcia was political violence. Conservatives have successfully normalized hurting what they view as the wrong people. That's where we're at now.
And as for rule of law, it's dead. There's a convicted felon who has also been found guilty of raping a woman in the White House. He's on tape confessing to leaking classified documents. He openly takes and solicits bribes. He accepts hundreds of millions of dollars in gifts from foreign states.
So why not shoot Charlie Kirk? "It's against the rules?" What fucking rules. We used to have a set of rules we all agreed to but that was thrown out. Now we have this. "You're not meant to hurt your political enemies". Nah, I'm pretty sure you are. We had a big vote on it last year and the majority agreed that actually it's fine. Personally I voted the other way but elections have consequences.
