I mean, sure you can say for instance Trump or Musk is a piece of garbage, but comparing them to Hitler, come on? Trump's own vice president, JD Vance, called Trump "America's Hitler". It's not like comparing Trump to Hitler is just some left-wing hyperbole; his own party calls him Hitler and fascist and authoritarian because of his words and actions. Well you got that on you, true or not. Not really an ideal situation if to call your president hitler or not..... Wouldn't wanna be in that situation. :D

I mean, sure you can say for instance Trump or Musk is a piece of garbage, but comparing them to Hitler, come on? Was hitler, hitler, before he was hitler? Yeah. Do you (or anyone) genuinely think, that Trump and/or Musk would go for what Hitler did? Are they arguing such things? Sure i know all that shit about Greenland, but for real... Do you actually believe that or do you want to have a punching weapon towards those people who support them (as you do not)? Yes. This is how it starts. Seems like people have learned nothing from history. edit: Also being like "man why are we comparing Musk to Hitler" when the man is literally throwing nazi salutes at the inauguration is so incredibly stupid. May i ask you how old are you? "This is how it starts" is pretty low bar imo. What Russia did since 2008 should have been "this is how it starts", but noone understood shit or had balls to do anything about it, all Europe at least stood dick in their hand when Putin did whatever he wanted to. I believe Musk did what he did and definitely did know what would happen. But not for a "salute". Take that as you want. I mean is there a single person on earth that doesn't know Musk did a nazi salute? Not really relevant, but 27. You wont see me defending Putin here. I know just as well that he should've been stopped a long time ago by western countries and Europe specifically. Alas, the world can have room for more than one Hitler. It doesn't matter whether or not Musk truly believes in it or not. He did the salute nonetheless, and dumbfucks are obfuscating that and some followers are already doing it "ironically". This is how they normalize this stuff to be more socially acceptable. I basically don't give a fuck what Trump does to USA. Personally i have the ability to feel empathy. Good for you tho! Oh come on, way to cut out the rest of the post... What are you gonna do about the poor and needy in USA yourself?

"I dont care what happens to other people," isnt painting a picture of anything other than a lack of basic human empathy.

I was thinner when putin didnt attack anything. Obviously my weight gain directly relates to Putin attacking! I didnt lose weight on day 1 but if by chance I lose weight and Putin stops attacking my weight loss will be a great thing!

You are right i genuinely don't care much about what happens to other people. I care what happens to my people (for instance my country). I have a hard time imagining anyone in Finland would be "is Donald Trump good president for Americans?", rather than "how does it affect me here".
EDIT: The most i have tried to interfere in this thread is what i know about, like WW2 and i had a question about something else too earlier (Props to Kwark btw to take time to explain to me the thing i was interested in last time). I have very little knowledge of US politics, it seems super convoluted and imo it can never succeed for the whole country of yours, or well, imo anywhere lol..
Just that this thread is turning into politics as politics is. People use their information, and data for their advantage, and not even trying to understand what it actually means. It's a lot of shit where people kind of quote the same post and make the absolute opposite conclusion from it lol...
Just see that quote. "I don't care what happens to other people" is horrible. What a Finnish person thinks someone in power in America would do to America, is a total different thing. Not that horrible after all, because i have no fucking say about it anyways.... But i am lacking human empathy..

Well, thats good to know.
I hope you also come away from this understanding that people are capable of caring what happens to people outside of their immediate circle and that its not a rare or unique phenomenon.

I explained it later and i explained also exactly why i hate to talk about this kind of stuff, when people do exactly what you just did.

Dude, theres no charitable way for me to interpret the ways you're indicating that you lack empathy for others (but for some reason take issue with calling the neo nazis in the US nazis?...)
You repeatedly have stated you dont understand caring for people outside of your home country, you've stated repeatedly you don't really have empathy, I'm not twisting your words here, you're saying the words and they're words that most people would consider pretty damnable because a lack of empathy is something people would associate with sociopaths and the like.
Empathy is important, caring for other people is important, being able to look at a situation and feel, "wow, that sucks for those people suffering," and not "I dont care about other people suffering because it doesnt impact me," is kind of important.
|
Yeah let's settle on that. I am a horrible person as you portrayed me.

I'm not even trying to say you're not capable of empathy, but please try to spare some of your ability to care for your countrymen for people who aren't your countrymen. The world is harsh and shitty and for anyone capable of empathy sparing some for people suffering doesnt have to be hard, noone is saying you need to join a guerilla group and assassinate people and go all Robinhood and shit, just having some empathy for those worse off and not accepting bad things happening just because theyre happening to someone else is more than a lot of people seem able to muster in the world right now.

I was not expecting to see Alexander Stubb, the president of Finland, on tl.net. However, you may be more open about being valueless than him.
I basically don't give a fuck what Trump does to USA.

This is Finnish "value-based" realism that has been stated as the core of our foreign policy.
It is also funny how people can think this way but do not seem to understand that Putin works on the same logic. Only the closed in-group matters and it is a virtue to increase their group's power, status, and wealth by any means necessary. Only failure to do so is seen as bad. Putin should be a role model for these people really.

I just saw a report that said the 15 states that rely most on federal funding for education to keep their schools open voted for Trump, and are now panicking because he wants to stop the department of education from funding schools.
Teachers will lose their jobs, class sizes will go up and the quality of education will take a huge hit.
The Trump voting teachers can scarcely believe what it is they actually voted for. They are terrified for the future under Trump now.
It goes to show how powerful sloganing like "America First" can be. It can convince people to vote for policies that obviously make America worse, that were public knowledge and of actual interest to these particular voters.
Crazy.
