It's awfully convenient that every story about Kavanaugh ends up with someone who's own friends don't even know what they are talking about and has no corroborating evidence whatsoever. None. But then again we have people who took the Avanatti-led Swetnick story seriously; some people will believe anything.

None. Yes, it's awfully convenient that sexual assault and rape happen to be something that women can coldly evaluate and talk about after it happens to them, isn't deeply traumatic, and isn't difficult to think about or process in the least. Except none of the above. Lots of people who get assaulted have a hard time believing themselves that it happened. And then this exact conversation happens every time, the "why didn't she come forward sooner?" or every variant of the "she's just doing it for her own gain" shit that makes every legitimate victim believe people will only doubt them. Absolutely no reason whatsoever why they might not talk about it. Nothing to see here.

Absolutely no reason whatsoever why they might not talk about it. Nothing to see here. Let's just keep in mind: 1) Ford's friend said the party where the event took place didn't happen (before changing to "not recalling" that it happened). 2) Ramirez called her friends to see if any of them remembered Kavanaugh doing what was accused, none of them remembered. 3) Swetnick claimed they had a witness, (who I believe took back her story and said Avanatti tricked her), and none of the other people Avanatti and co claimed they had were ever produced. 4) and here, where the alleged victim has no memory of the event, nor, it seems, does anyone else. It's not just that they didn't come forward. It's that they apparently didn't tell anyone else. not their friends and not their family, no one. And the people were thought to be there or could have been there don't remember it either. And these are not the only problem with each story, but I don't want to rehash the whole thing.

It seemed quite strange at the time that a person would come forward with a clear accusation and a list of people that could corroborate their story only for it to be ignored by everyone seemingly including law enforcement. This new accusation was confirmed by two FBI agents and is someone who is a well known person in Washington that has worked with both Democrats and Republicans in the past and has a good reputation. Kavanaugh also declined to respond to the latest allegation rather than deny it like he has done in the past.Kavanaugh in the news again. It appears there was another reported accusation that was not made public until now. https://www.msn.com/en-ca/news/world/kavanaugh-accused-of-more-unwanted-sexual-contact-by-former-classmate-report/ar-AAHj3kd?li=AAggNb9 Even more troubling is the claim by Adam Schiff that the DNI said at a hearing that he was instructed to prevent the FBI from investigating the new allegations further than they already had from somebody higher up the ladder, which is why no investigation happened. One of the only people above the DNI is the President. That would mean Trump directed the DNI to not start an investigation they were legally obligated to follow through with. This has fairly obvious implications if it is true. Trump's responses on Twitter today haven't helped assuage any concern to say the least. edit: for clarity, I believe this is what Schiff was referring to: The authors also said they uncovered a second, previously unreported incident involving similar behavior by Mr. Kavanaugh at a different party in his freshman year. The excerpt said a classmate, Max Stier, who now runs a nonprofit organization in Washington, notified senators and the F.B.I. about what he had witnessed but that the bureau did not investigate. The excerpt cites two unnamed officials who have communicated with Mr. Stier, who has declined to discuss the episode publicly. Justice Kavanaugh has declined to answer questions about it, according to the excerpt. www.nytimes.com

This tweet makes it sound like Saudi Arabia is gonna choose what the US military is going to do in response. Locked and loaded once again. You guys are apparently also releasing strategic oil reserves to the market to counter the price hike.

Here's the tweet: Here's an article on the Pompeo news briefing: www.reuters.com The sheer incompetence of this administration continues to amaze me. edit: I found Chris Hayes' joke of congratulating MBS on being the new Commander-in-Chief pretty amusing. Trump's willingness to completely suck up to MBS and Putin certainly doesn't help with the whole "he might be compromised by one or both of those countries" thing.

Iran has warned that it is prepared for “fully fledged war” after the United States accused it of launching devastating drone attacks on two oil facilities in Saudi Arabia. The two powers are at their closest point to all-out conflict since President Trump reinstated sanctions last November, six months after pulling the US out of an international deal that limited Iran’s nuclear activities. The weekend’s events overturned hopes that the dismissal of John Bolton, the hawkish US national security adviser, might ease tensions. www.thetimes.co.uk

The points are intrinsically racist so it's more about articulating them in a way where you can maintain plausible (at least for some) deniability imo.
