This reminds me of the recent incident that happened in Sydney, where authorities and citizens alike kept reminding everyone not to broadcast too many details about the operations conducted by the police. I believe the media also followed these instructions, and shared the bare minimum so long as the hostage situation was happening. I think the French media should do the same here. | ||

Yeah the problem is the terrorists have most likely no sense of self preservation which is what i guess negotiations are mostly about "we won't shoot you" but they dont't care since they will die as martyrs etc. Religious extremism kinda throws the rulebook out of the window for a hostage situation i'd bet. Still watching RTL's live web channel. They're making a whole show about it. "We are the first to provide you with information about this situation, as it has been officially confirmed". Add that to stupid testimonies and so on... they're selling the whole damn thing. I don't like it one bit. It's too sensational. You can tell they want to profit from it. Meh... | ||
